Marvell is a leader in data infrastructure semiconductor solutions. The Commercial Transactions Group in Marvell’s Legal Department drafts, reviews, negotiates, and manages the company’s global commercial agreements. The team partners closely with every business unit and functional group across Marvell to provide practical solutions and legal advice on best practices and risks for commercial engagements.

What You Can Expect

  • Draft, negotiate, and advise the business primarily on commercial and strategic transactions with Marvell’s customers.
  • Assist other members of the team with other types of agreements as business needs change or contract volume shifts.
  • Partner closely and directly with representatives from multiple functions and business units to lead complex negotiations while balancing Marvell’s business and legal interests.
  • Drive continuous improvement to existing legal templates, legal and business processes, and legal support models in collaboration with functional groups and business units.
  • Build and maintain business relationships and the trust of internal clients while adhering to Marvell’s legal standards.
  • Handle and complete special assignments or projects as directed by the Deputy General Counsel of the Commercial Transactions Group.

What We're Looking For

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in at least one US state bar with eligibility to register as in-house counsel in California. (Texas or California preferred)
  • At least 7 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm, focusing on complex high-tech commercial transactions and intellectual property licensing, with a preference for experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience negotiating customer agreements for technology products is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment with multiple functional groups and business units.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle difficult situations, solve problems creatively, and make practical decisions in a fast-paced work setting. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well-developed soft skills such as adaptability, responsiveness, curiosity, humility, and a good sense of humor are important qualities to integrate into the team and be successful at Marvell.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

137,770 - 206,400, $ per annum

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
