Senior Data Analyst and Engineer (ArcGIS) 

Location: Colorado * Clearance: Ability to attain a Public Trust Clearance  


Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst and Engineer with deep expertise in ArcGIS and geospatial data systems to design, build, and maintain advanced data processing pipelines for enterprise-level GIS initiatives. This role will focus on capturing requirements, architecting geospatial databases, executing complex data migrations, and documenting all processes to ensure compliance with federal and organizational standards. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in SQL, Python, and PowerShell, along with extensive experience leveraging ArcGIS Data Interoperability and related ETL tools to manage spatial and non-spatial datasets.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain data processing pipelines and workflows for geospatial data integration using ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
Design and optimize database schemas, including enterprise geodatabases, to support spatial data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
Capture and analyze data requirements from stakeholders, translating them into actionable engineering solutions.
Perform data migration and transformation using ETL tools such as ArcGIS Data Interoperability, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and open-source frameworks.
Ensure geospatial data quality, integrity, and compliance with federal metadata and governance standards (FGDC, ISO 19115).
Document data architectures, pipeline workflows, and integration processes for operational transparency and maintainability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including GIS analysts, developers, and business users, to deliver scalable data solutions.
Support the development of automated geoprocessing scripts and data validation tools in Python and PowerShell to streamline workflows.
Provide guidance on best practices for managing geospatial data in enterprise environments and mentor junior team members. 


Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data analysis and engineering, with significant work focused on geospatial data systems.
Proficiency in ArcGIS platforms, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online.
Hands-on experience with ETL processes and tools such as ArcGIS Data Interoperability, SSIS, and Python-based frameworks.
Strong skills in SQL, Python, and PowerShell for data management and automation.
Experience designing and managing enterprise geodatabases and integrating spatial and non-spatial data.
Excellent documentation, analytical, and communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. 


Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in federal data governance frameworks or other highly regulated environments.
Familiarity with cloud-hosted geospatial data environments (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS/Azure).
Knowledge of advanced spatial analytics, geoprocessing, and metadata management.
Relevant certifications such as GISP (GIS Professional) or Esri Technical Certifications.
