The Aurora Data Solutions team generates insights to improve the Aurora Driver. We seek an exceptional Data Analyst to automate monitoring and analysis of the Aurora Driver’s on-road performance and operational efficiency. This role leverages vast data to help achieve product and commercialization goals. The ideal candidate thrives cross-functionally and navigates complex projects with Business Development, Operations, Product, Software, and Strategy teams. In this role, you will

  • Develop data tools and insights to drive the development and operation of a commercially viable product, with a focus on our on-road performance and commercial/operational goals.
  • Partner closely with those stakeholders to design and implement metrics and dashboards to help them measure, understand, and improve decision making, performance, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with a team of world-class Data Scientists and Analysts on problems spanning commercialization, operations, safety, hardware, and software.
  • Collaborate with our Data Science & Analytics and Engineering communities to ensure the adoption of best practices and suggest improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar technical role.
  • Proven experience taking Data Analytics projects end-to-end, from synthesizing business needs to building and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Advanced proficiency with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and knowledge of Data Engineering best practices.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data analytics infrastructure, including experience with data transformation tools like DBT and various visualization frameworks/tools.
  • Competency in Python, demonstrated by the ability to write readable, maintainable, and easily interpretable code.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a highly cross-functional, fast-moving, and high-stakes environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to translate and cascade executive input into actionable, data-driven technical analysis for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications 

  • Advanced degree (MS) in Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, or a related quantitative field
  • Experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools
  • Experience using data-modeling business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Looker, etc.
  • Experience presenting your work to Executive teams & interfacing with varied stakeholders
  • Experience in the Autonomous Vehicle, Robotics, or Advanced Transportation domains
  • Exposure to Logistics, Fleet Operations, Network Planning, or Optimization problems

The base salary range for this position is $104K-$150K per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
