JOIN OUR TEAM AS A SENIOR DATA ANALYST!
Are you a data-driven professional who is passionate about leveraging analytics to shape business strategy and innovation? Orion180 is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to design and implement advanced predictive models that drive informed decision-making across underwriting, claims, and pricing functions. You will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that enhance our risk management and underwriting performance.
At Orion180, we expect our analysts to go beyond execution and serve as consultative partners to the business. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong intellectual curiosity and ownership by proactively seeking to understand not just what is happening in the data, but why it is happening and what actions should follow. This role requires a self-starter who is comfortable operating with ambiguity, asks thoughtful and targeted questions, and translates loosely defined business needs into structured analytical approaches.
Success in this role depends on the ability to clearly communicate insights, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and influence decision-making across the organization. We are looking for someone who not only delivers analysis but helps shape how the business thinks about and uses data.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Data Strategy & Pipeline Development
- Develop and maintain reproducible, scalable data pipelines to support advanced modeling and analytics workflows.
- Design and implement predictive and time-series models using classical and machine learning methods.
- Collaborate with sales, underwriting, claims, and actuarial teams to integrate models into production environments.
Modeling & Analysis
- Leverage Python, SQL, and statistical analysis to identify key data patterns and multivariate correlations.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and ensure data integrity across structured and unstructured datasets.
- Document model assumptions, governance processes, and validation results to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Visualization & Communication
- Build intuitive dashboards and data visualizations that translate complex insights into clear business intelligence.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams, including leadership and technical partners.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging data science tools to continuously improve analytical capabilities.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
Experience:
- Proven experience in data analysis, modeling, and visualization within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL optimization, statistical modeling, API development, and forecasting techniques.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and familiarity with MLOps frameworks.
- Strong understanding of both data science and actuarial principles.
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
We are interested in candidates who are developing capabilities aligned with modern, forward-looking analytics practices. This includes experience or familiarity with semantic data modeling and governed metric layers, working within scalable cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks), and integrating analytics within broader data engineering workflows. Exposure to emerging capabilities such as AI-assisted analysis, automated insight generation, and advanced data visualization techniques is highly valued.
