- Build and evolve data pipelines that connect our core systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Braze)
- Own data modeling and warehouse architecture to support business use cases
- Design and manage scalable data flows — whether through Segment, reverse ETL, or custom solutions
- Maintain data workflows that support reporting, experimentation, cohort analysis, and marketing automation
- Partner with Lifecycle and Product teams to define metrics, build segmentation logic, and support experimentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enable reporting, cohort analysis, and marketing automation
- Translate business needs into clean, scalable datasets — and make technical concepts accessible to non-technical teams
- Leverage and evolve tools like Segment, BigQuery, dbt, Airbyte, or other best-in-class solutions to build fast, reliable, and scalable systems
- Continuously evaluate and improve our data stack, from ingestion to activation
- Deliver data to train state of the art AI agents and models
- Help define and evolve our data engineering practices as we scale
You’re a data engineer who wants full ownership — not just of pipelines, but of outcomes. You care deeply about clean data, fast queries, and high-leverage tooling. You’ll be the go-to expert for all things data at Ladder, with the autonomy to build and the responsibility to raise the bar. You bring a proactive mindset and thrive in a high-agency, fast-growth environment where data drives every decision.
The Foundation- 5+ years in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or similar roles
- Expert-level SQL skills and deep experience with BigQuery
- Hands-on experience with tools like dbt, Airbyte, Airflow, or Segment — or strong opinions on what we should be using
- Familiarity with reverse ETL flows and customer engagement platforms like Braze
- Comfortable working across teams to define metrics, support experimentation, and build reliable data infrastructure
- Outcome-oriented — you don’t just move data, you move the business
- Data quality obsessive - you love clean, reliable, and accessible pipelines
- Collaborative communicator — fluent in translating business needs into scalable data solutions
- High agency — you spot problems and solve them before they land on someone else’s desk
- Experience with machine learning and AI tooling
- Experience with Braze or other Marketing Automation tools
- Familiarity with BI tools like Looker
- Knowledge of event tracking platforms like Segment or Amplitude
- Python experience for transformation logic
- Fitness/wellness industry experience or passion
- Well capitalized by Point 72 and General Catalyst
