Senior Data Governance Analyst (ArcGIS) 

Location: Remote with ability to travel up to 50% to Colorado 

Clearance: Ability to attain a Public Trust Clearance  


Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst with specialized expertise in ArcGIS to support enterprise-wide governance of geospatial data assets. This role will partner with federal staff and cross-functional teams to establish governance frameworks, policies, and best practices for managing spatial and non-spatial data. The analyst will focus on improving data quality, cataloging, and integration across ArcGIS environments while ensuring compliance with organizational and federal data standards.




Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead development of governance policies and processes specific to geospatial data in ArcGIS environments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain geospatial metadata, data catalogs, and lineage documentation.
  • Support the integration of ArcGIS data into enterprise data governance frameworks and repositories.
  • Conduct data quality assessments and recommend improvements for spatial datasets and map services.
  • Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to identify geospatial data needs, issues, and governance priorities.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for geospatial data management, including feature services, layers, and enterprise geodatabases.
  • Partner with technical and business teams to ensure consistent application of governance standards across projects and programs.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations on governance metrics and outcomes for leadership and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data governance with significant focus on geospatial data and ArcGIS.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online, including managing data services and feature layers.
  • Strong understanding of metadata standards (FGDC, ISO 19115) and spatial data integration techniques.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to organize and simplify complex geospatial concepts for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with federal data governance frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with integrating ArcGIS with other enterprise data governance tools (Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
  • Certifications such as GISP (GIS Professional) or Esri Technical C
