ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Modeler with strong technical expertise in data warehousing and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of modeling techniques with the ability to understand business processes, collaborate cross-functionally, and deliver high-quality data solutions.

We are modernizing the data and analytics platform that supports our Global Trade business - covering products such as letters of credit, guarantees, collections, and supply chain finance. As our business grows and regulatory expectations increase, we need stronger data capabilities to improve decision-making and operational resilience.

This project focuses on upgrading data pipelines, improving data quality and governance, and enabling better reporting and analytics across all trade products and regions. The work directly supports key goals such as reducing risk, improving client experience, increasing operational efficiency, and meeting regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain ER and dimensional data models to support analytical and operational needs.
  • Write high-quality SQL for data profiling, validation, and design support.
  • Apply best practices in data warehouse architecture, including star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, and data integration patterns.
  • Leverage cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks) to implement scalable and performant data models.
  • Use industry-standard modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, Sparx EA, or dbt to design, document, and maintain metadata.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of modeling standards, templates, and guidelines.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand processes, requirements, and data flows.
  • Translate business needs into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Ensure models accurately reflect real-world business rules and support downstream reporting and analytics.
  • Maintain models and artifacts using version control (e.g., Git).
  • Produce clear and comprehensive documentation, including data dictionaries and design specifications.
  • Conduct impact analysis for changes to data structures, ensuring stability and predictability across the ecosystem.
  • Collaborate effectively with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to ensure smooth implementation and alignment across the data lifecycle.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience (10 years) in data modeling within analytics or data warehousing environments.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational and analytical databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud data ecosystems and modern data stack tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work in an agile, collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Computer Science or related topic
