Overview

Nakupuna Companies is seeking a Senior Data Base Administrator to join our team of talented consultants. The individual will serve as the primary hands-on administrator for the Informatica Data Governance Suite and the Mulesoft Anypoint Platform in NAVSUP's AWS GovCloud environment. The role plays a significant role in installation, configuration, integration, security, reliability, performance, backup and recovery, and sustainment of Enterprise Data Catalog, Axon Data Governance, Informatica and Mulesoft Data Quality, and their supporting repositories.

The individual will support NAVSUP Business Systems Center by administering the Informatica Data Governance Suite and Mulesoft Anypoint Platform within NAVSUP’s AWS GovCloud pre-production and production environments. Configure and integrate Enterprise Data Catalog, Axon Data Governance, and Informatica and Mulesoft Data Quality with Yellowbrick, Informatica PowerCenter, and applicable ETL services to enable metadata cataloging, data lineage, data quality, and governance. Work within an integrated Agile DevSecOps team to implement secure, repeatable configurations; support performance, availability, backup, recovery, testing, and RMF/ATO activities; and maintain technical documentation and knowledge transfer. Coordinate with MuleSoft engineers and solution architects where platform, data, and integration dependencies intersect. The primary work site is Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; remote or contractor-site work requires Government coordination and approval.

Responsibilities

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to mission requirements and reasonable accommodation.

  • Install, configure, administer, patch, upgrade, troubleshoot, and sustain Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog, Axon Data Governance, and Informatica and Mulesoft Data Quality in pre-production and production.
  • Configure repositories, databases, services, load balancing, health checks, session handling, and application endpoints using repeatable Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code practices where feasible.
  • Establish secure connectivity to Yellowbrick and integrate Informatica PowerCenter and ETL metadata for cataloging, harvesting, lineage, and operational coordination.
  • Configure scan schedules, metadata curation workflows, glossary and domain structures, classification policies, data-quality rule libraries, profiling, scorecards, and governance reporting.
  • Implement and maintain SSO, PKI, LDAP, certificates, encryption, service accounts, and role-based access for administrators, stewards, and analysts in accordance with least-privilege requirements.
  • Define and implement high-availability, backup, replication, retention, restoration, failover, and disaster-recovery configurations aligned to approved RTO and RPO objectives.
  • Validate throughput, query performance, connectivity, repository health, capacity, availability, and stability under expected load; tune and right-size components as needed.
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, regression, performance, security, recovery, and operational-readiness tests; retain complete test evidence and remediate findings.
  • Integrate platform logs and health information with CloudWatch, Splunk, AppDynamics, or comparable monitoring tools; establish alerts and response procedures.
  • Support RMF, ATO, STIG, hardening, patch, encryption, logging, access-control, and vulnerability-remediation evidence for Government review.
  • Maintain code, scripts, configurations, architecture diagrams, inventories, procedures, runbooks, and training materials in Azure DevOps and designated NAVSUP repositories.
  • Provide incident triage, root-cause analysis, vendor escalation, change control, rollback planning, hands-on mentoring, and ongoing sustainment support.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

In addition to being able to confidently perform the above job duties, the candidate should demonstrate the following:

  • Technical Leadership - Oversees Informatica and Mulesoft platform health, configuration, security, performance, recovery, and sustainment; makes sound platform decisions and clearly communicates technical risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
  • Analytical / Problem Solving - Diagnoses cross-platform issues involving applications, repositories, databases, connectors, identity, network, and cloud resources; uses test evidence, logs, and performance measures to isolate root causes and verify fixes.
  • Security / Quality - Applies least privilege, encryption, PKI, SSO, hardening, logging, patching, and configuration-control requirements consistently; builds repeatable configurations, recovery procedures, tests, and documentation that can survive staff turnover.
  • Agile / Teamwork - Keeps technical work, blockers, risks, test results, and configuration changes current in Azure DevOps; works closely with the data-quality analyst, MuleSoft engineer, architect, cybersecurity staff, and NAVSUP administrators.
  • Coaching - Explains platform operations clearly and provides hands-on mentoring to Government staff; creates runbooks and training that allow NAVSUP personnel to perform routine administration and escalation.

Education and Experience:

Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.

Required experience: The candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

Preferred experience: The following experience will strengthen the candidate's fit for this role:

  • 10 years of hands-on production experience deploying, configuring, and administering Informatica and Mulesoft Enterprise Data Catalog, Axon Data Governance, and Data Quality highly desired.
  • Recent experience integrating Informatica with PowerCenter and a production relational data warehouse; Yellowbrick experience is especially valuable.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, automated deployment, and Azure DevOps Git repositories and pipelines.
  • Experience supporting RMF/ATO authorization, applicable STIGs, NIST 800-53 controls, Zero Trust, and DoD security evidence.
  • Informatica, Mulesoft, AWS, database, operating-system, or related vendor certification beyond the PWS minimum access requirements.
  • Prior experience in a DoD, Department of the Navy, NAVSUP, or similarly controlled production environment.

Certifications:

Required: Current DoD 8140.03 IAT Level II baseline certification at the start of performance: CompTIA Security+ CE or a PWS-listed substitute (CCNA, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or CND).

Required within six months: An applicable computing-environment certification in AWS, Windows, Oracle, UNIX, or Linux, coordinated to the assigned environment.

Clearance and access: This position requires U.S. citizenship, CAC eligibility, and a final, favorably adjudicated T5, T5R, SSBI, or equivalent investigation before privileged access is granted. Interim privileged access is authorized. The certification requirements stated above also apply.
