Come visualize brand experiences for us. Dream up ideas with us. Define ‘best-in-class’ for digital communication. Do it as a creative leader in our amazing Experience Design team, based in the vibrant creative hub of Austin, Texas, and serve as a central pillar of the CRM, marketing automation, and personalization powerhouse that is VML MAP.

What will your day look like?

As our new Senior Designer, you will take full creative oversight of design, CRM, and loyalty projects for several major global clients. You will craft digital experiences that meet their business objectives and lofty ambitions—something you’ll know all about as you gain a deep, strategic understanding of their businesses, audiences, and industries.

Your primary job will be to lead and establish the visual standard for creative content in various forms, with key responsibilities including:

  • Defining and designing master visual guidelines and templates for sophisticated CRM systems.
  • Guiding and advising on the overall design and visual identity of content used in direct marketing channels (emails, apps, SMS, paid/social media, and loyalty programs).
  • Directing and reviewing the creation of content assets to ensure they strictly align with, or masterfully push, existing design guidelines.
  • Overseeing visual storytelling by conceptualizing strategies, customer journeys, and ensuring a seamless, cohesive, and premium visual experience across all touchpoints.

You will also take the lead in conceptualizing engaging, consumer-facing digital experiences by:

  • Partnering closely with your creative counterpart (such as a Senior Copywriter) to co-develop powerful, holistic creative concepts from the ground up.
  • Visualizing the complete picture—from the very first click to a lifetime of brand loyalty.
  • Playing a proactive, guiding role in projects, from initial idea generation to execution and client approval—closely liaising with Experience Strategists, Account Directors, and Consultants.
Who are you going to work with?

As a leader within the Experience Design team, you will work closely with talented designers, copywriters, motion designers, and other creative leads, as well as communication strategists, CX/UX designers, data scientists, tech developers, and project managers.

Our studio is located in Austin, Texas, and we’ll expect not only exceptional, industry-leading work from you, but also that you serve as a culture bearer—contributing to the fun, friendly, collaborative, and innovative atmosphere that echoes through our office space. We come from diverse backgrounds and have unique skillsets, meaning you’ll have plenty of opportunities to mentor growing creatives, lead by example, and apply your deep design expertise.

What do you bring to the table?

You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, managing a high-volume workload with short turnaround times without ever compromising on craft. Your highly strategic, solution-oriented mindset enables you to digest complex data and translate abstract insights into beautiful, impactful design and exciting ideas.

You possess immaculate attention to detail, even when intentionally colouring outside the lines, ensuring all creative deliveries are spotless, effective, and polished.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional design and art direction experience within a leading advertising agency, digital studio, or in-house agency.
  • Proven brand experience working with Automotive or Premium/Luxury sectors is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in a lead capacity, with a portfolio showing full creative oversight of complex design systems and digital campaigns.
  • Experience working in tight partnership with a senior copywriter to co-develop robust creative and verbal concepts.
  • Highly skilled in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
  • Comfortable and polished in presenting concepts, utilizing tools like PowerPoint (including animations) to bring strategies to life for senior clients.
  • Highly proficient with Generative AI design tools (Midjourney, Firefly, stable diffusion, etc.), comfortable with prompting, and passionate about mastering AI-driven creative workflows.
  • Strong ability to build visual guidelines and design languages from scratch, as well as reinterpreting existing brand assets for digital environments.
  • Exceptional time management and a proactive mindset, with a proven comfort in navigating ambiguity and successfully challenging difficult briefs.
  • Professional fluency in English (both verbal and written) with strong presentation and communication skills.
