As a Senior DevOps Engineer II, you will lead the evolution of our infrastructure and development processes, with a strong focus on cloud engineering across GCP and AWS, CI/CD, observability, and automation. You will own complex, multi-step technical initiatives with meaningful design and operational risk, and partner across development, security, operations, and infrastructure teams to enable reliable, scalable delivery across the platform.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, build, and operate scalable, resilient infrastructure on GCP and AWS
  • Lead and improve Kubernetes platforms, focusing on automation, reliability, and efficient resource usage
  • Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Harness) to support safe, reliable deployments
  • Implement and evolve observability using Dynatrace to improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response
  • Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform and Ansible
  • Partner with development teams to improve application performance, scalability, and platform adoption
  • Contribute to cost optimization, resilience testing (load and chaos testing), and reliability initiatives
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation (approximately once every six weeks; rotation frequency depends on team size)
  • Mentor peers, help define platform standards, and document best practices

What You'll Need:

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, platform engineering, or a related field
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) (compute, networking, storage, IAM, managed services)
  • At least 2–3 years in one cloud and solid experience in the other
  • Advanced experience with CI/CD platforms, such as Harness, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Jenkins
  • Solid experience with observability tools, including Dynatrace or equivalent platforms (Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
  • Proficiency with containerization and Kubernetes (or equivalent orchestration platforms)
  • Strong experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi
  • Scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python, Bash, or Go
  • Proven experience automating infrastructure and workflows at scale
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align technical direction across teams with competing priorities
  • Interest in standardization, efficiency, and continuous technical improvement

Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Experience with internal developer portals or platform-as-a-service solutions (e.g., Backstage, Harness IDP)
  • Understanding of security best practices in cloud and containerized environments
  • Relevant certifications, such as:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
    • Google Professional Cloud Architect
    • CKA or CKAD
  • Experience supporting database-backed workloads from a platform perspective, such as:
    • Backup and restore strategies
    • Safe migration and change practices in CI/CD pipelines
    • Connectivity and secrets management between Kubernetes/services and managed databases
    • Observability for the data tier

Note: This role is not a primary DBA position. You will partner with DBAs or data platform teams as needed.
