Gartner is seeking an experienced analyst to provide research and advisory services to our cloud service user and provider clients in the United States and globally. As a Senior Director Analyst in the Cloud Infrastructure practice, you will leverage your broad knowledge of IT Public Cloud technologies, vendors (including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google GCP, Oracle OCI, Equinix), and deployment challenges to support our clients.

In addition to technology coverage, you will address non-technical aspects of digital infrastructure, such as data center operations, pricing strategies, and organizational challenges. You will advise clients on best practices for migrating to public cloud platforms (IaaS and PaaS), and provide specific guidance on evaluating and selecting cloud vendors and establishing cloud centers of excellence. Topics you may cover include, but are not limited to:

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with a team of experienced analysts and advisors to produce authoritative research and guidance addressing the priorities of cloud service provider clients.
  • Serve as an expert on technology markets, buyer behavior, and local market factors (including regulatory and compliance issues) that impact cloud service delivery in the US.
  • Develop “how-to” research and advice on best and emerging practices for technology buyers and sellers.
  • Support sales and client service teams in delivering insights to clients and prospects.
  • Present cloud services research and thought leadership in various forums, including client presentations and Gartner events.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred
  • 12+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience as a Head of Infrastructure & Operations, or direct reporting to such a role
  • Strong knowledge of business, technology, channel, and go-to-market strategies
  • Direct experience with major vendors (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM)
  • Proven track record in developing cloud selection and adoption strategies, including key issues, vendors, partners, and best practices
  • Deep understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Services markets, including hyperscaler strengths and the competitive landscape for IT services
  • Demonstrated CxO presence and credibility with executives and stakeholders, with expertise in advising on mission-critical priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to meet tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 152,000 USD - 190,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
