DESCRIPTION:
Join our commercial leadership team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and make a significant impact in serving science globally. As Senior Director of Account Management, you'll support strategic growth and client relationships across our portfolio of solutions. Leading a team of sales and account management professionals, you'll develop and execute effective commercial strategies to expand market share while delivering exceptional value to our customers.
You'll collaborate across divisions to create integrated solutions that help customers accelerate research, solve complex challenges, and improve patient outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to scientific advancement while working with industry-leading brands and technologies. You'll build and maintain strategic partnerships with key decision-makers, develop comprehensive sales strategies, and ensure strong alignment between customer needs and our offerings.
This position combines strategic leadership, industry expertise, and relationship management to drive sustainable growth and customer success. You'll have the opportunity to support and develop talented teams while working in scientific innovation.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred (business, science, or related field)
  • Demonstrated success achieving revenue targets and driving sustainable business growth
  • Strong understanding of pharma, biotech, and academic industry dynamics and customer needs
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing commercial and account management teams
  • Ability to develop and execute regional go-to-market strategies and annual operating plans, including budget and quota design
  • Experience in strategic forecasting, pipeline development, and funnel management
  • Strong business acumen, including financial management and performance tracking
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining senior-level customer relationships
  • Experience developing and implementing effective commercial strategies that expand market share
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience working in matrixed organizations and collaborating cross-functionally
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and sales analytics tools
  • Ability to travel up to 40–50%
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop commercial talent

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $195,500.00–$325,900.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
