Position Summary

Kaseya is seeking an experienced Director of Cloud Operations to lead the teams responsible for operating, scaling, and continuously improving our cloud platforms and production services. This role is accountable for service reliability, operational excellence, incident management, cloud cost optimization, platform stability, and the overall health of customer-facing environments.

The Director of Cloud Operations will drive a disciplined, automation-first approach to infrastructure and production operations, ensuring platforms remain reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-effective. This individual will partner closely with Infrastructure, Engineering, Security, Product, Support, Finance, and executive leadership to improve service performance, strengthen operational processes, manage risk, and support the company's continued growth.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience operating enterprise-scale cloud environments, leading technical teams through complex production incidents, and implementing operational practices that improve reliability, efficiency, and customer outcomes across mission-critical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cloud operations across production and non-production environments, including public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, and multi-cloud platforms.
  • Own service reliability, availability, performance, and operational health, establishing and monitoring key metrics such as incident volume, mean time to resolution (MTTR), change success rate, capacity, and customer impact.
  • Oversee 24x7 operations and support for mission-critical services, ensuring incidents are managed with urgency, clear accountability, effective communication, and appropriate escalation.
  • Establish and continuously improve incident management, problem management, change management, post-incident reviews, root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and executive reporting processes.
  • Strengthen monitoring, alerting, logging, tracing, and observability capabilities to improve proactive issue detection, reduce operational noise, and minimize customer impact.
  • Partner with Engineering and Platform teams to improve production reliability through automation, infrastructure as code, deployment controls, operational readiness standards, and reliability engineering practices.
  • Lead cloud financial management and cost optimization initiatives, including usage visibility, forecasting, resource tagging, rightsizing, reserved capacity planning, and cost anomaly detection.
  • Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to manage vulnerability remediation, patching, access controls, backup validation, disaster recovery, and audit readiness.
  • Develop and maintain operational standards for capacity planning, service continuity, disaster recovery, and production environment management.
  • Manage relationships with cloud service providers, managed service providers (MSPs), enterprise support vendors, and other third-party partners to ensure service quality, cost efficiency, and accountability.
  • Recruit, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing cloud operations organization, establishing clear responsibilities, performance expectations, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Communicate operational performance, service risks, customer impact, resource requirements, and improvement initiatives to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure operations, production operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, platform engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience leading technical teams responsible for production systems, cloud platforms, enterprise infrastructure, or customer-facing services.
  • Demonstrated experience operating large-scale SaaS platforms, managed services, enterprise software, or other high-availability production environments.
  • Hands-on technical understanding of at least one major public cloud platform, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of incident management, problem management, change management, monitoring, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and operational performance reporting.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, databases, Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and security operations.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, automation, and infrastructure management tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Bash, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies.
  • Experience managing cloud expenditures, capacity planning, financial forecasting, resource optimization, vendor relationships, and enterprise support agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead operational improvements through automation, standardized processes, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate technical risks, service impacts, and operational improvement plans to executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a global, 24x7 cloud operations or production operations organization.
  • Experience managing hybrid-cloud or multi-cloud environments at enterprise scale.
  • Experience supporting regulated, security-sensitive, or audit-intensive environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, Agile, Lean, or similar operational frameworks.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, ITIL, CISSP, CISM, or FinOps certifications.
