Overview

As Senior Director, Consilio Advanced Learning Institute (CALI), you will play a pivotal role in advancing Consilio’s educational leadership across eDiscovery, legal technology, investigations, information governance, legal operations, artificial intelligence, and related areas of legal practice. Reporting to the CMO, you will lead the development and execution of CALI’s educational strategy, ensuring our programs provide practical, technically accurate, and legally sound guidance for lawyers and legal professionals.


This role requires an attorney who can understand and explain the legal nuances behind complex topics, including discovery obligations, privilege, proportionality, defensibility, Technology Assisted Review (TAR), analytics, Generative AI, information governance, investigations, privacy, cybersecurity, and evolving legal technology workflows. You will lead the ongoing development of CALI’s educational content, thought leadership, CLE programming, and professional development initiatives while helping legal practitioners understand how changing law, technology, and data practices affect their work.


You will oversee CALI’s full portfolio, including webinars, CLE programs, practice guides, white papers, research initiatives, client education programs, and CALI Symposium. You will work closely with subject matter experts across Consilio to transform deep legal and technical expertise into educational experiences that help clients and practitioners navigate an increasingly complex legal landscape. CALI currently serves as Consilio’s center for thought leadership, research, and education through educational content, practical guidance, CLE programming, webinars, and Symposium.

Responsibilities

CALI Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the strategy, growth, and ongoing evolution of the Consilio Advanced Learning Institute· Define annual educational priorities aligned with emerging legal developments, client needs, technology trends, and business objectives· Ensure CALI continues to serve as Consilio’s center for legal education, thought leadership, research, and professional development· Establish and maintain high standards for legal accuracy, educational quality, technical credibility, and practical usefulness· Identify new opportunities for educational programming, publications, research initiatives, client education, and professional development

Legal Education & Content Development

  • Lead development of educational content including CLE programs, webinars, practice guides, white papers, articles, research reports, and related resources· Translate complex legal, technical, and operational issues into practical guidance for legal practitioners· Ensure CALI content reflects current law, procedural requirements, ethical obligations, judicial guidance, and defensible practices· Develop programming focused on eDiscovery, investigations, information governance, legal operations, privacy, cybersecurity, TAR, analytics, and Generative AI· Partner with Consilio subject matter experts to develop engaging educational content that helps practitioners improve their projects, organizations, and careers

CALI Symposium

  • Lead strategy, programming, and content development for CALI Symposium· Develop annual Symposium themes, educational tracks, keynote concepts, and learning agendas· Recruit and prepare speakers, moderators, judges, attorneys, clients, academics, and industry experts· Ensure Symposium programming addresses timely legal, operational, data, and technology challenges facing legal teams· Partner with internal teams to drive participation, engagement, educational value, and market visibility

Thought Leadership & Research

  • Develop original educational content and research addressing emerging issues in legal practice· Monitor developments from courts, regulators, bar associations, industry groups, and legal technology providers· Help practitioners understand evolving issues surrounding AI governance, technology competence, defensibility, validation, privilege, privacy, and responsible technology adoption· Expand CALI’s library of practical educational resources, research, and thought leadership· Strengthen Consilio’s position as a trusted source of guidance at the intersection of law, technology, and data

Client Education & Market Engagement

  • Develop customized educational programs for clients and strategic relationships· Support client engagement through practical, high-value educational programming· Build relationships with legal organizations, bar associations, academics, judges, and industry experts· Represent CALI and Consilio through webinars, conferences, educational initiatives, and client programs· Expand CALI’s reach and impact across the legal community

Measurement & Optimization

  • Define KPIs to evaluate the impact of CALI programs, content, and educational initiatives· Use participation data, audience feedback, and engagement metrics to continuously improve programming· Track performance across webinars, CLE programs, Symposium, publications, and client education initiatives· Build a scalable model that supports continued growth of CALI programming and resources· Ensure CALI investments support both educational value and strategic business objectives

Key Performance Indicators

  • Growth in CALI audience, participation, and engagement· Symposium attendance, satisfaction, and educational impact· Webinar and CLE registration, attendance, and utilization· Growth and consumption of CALI educational content and resources· Expansion of client education initiatives· Quality and practical relevance of CALI programming· Market perception of Consilio thought leadership and expertise· Contribution of CALI programs to client engagement, business development, and brand visibility
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor required
  • Licensed attorney preferred; active practice not required
  • 10+ years of experience in legal practice, eDiscovery, legal technology, investigations, legal operations, legal education, consulting, or related disciplines
  • Strong understanding of litigation, discovery, investigations, evidence, privilege, proportionality, defensibility, and legal process
  • Demonstrated expertise in eDiscovery, Technology Assisted Review (TAR), analytics, legal technology, and emerging applications of Generative AI in legal workflows
  • Ability to understand and explain the legal, ethical, procedural, and technical implications of emerging technologies
  • Experience developing CLE programs, legal education content, thought leadership, publications, webinars, conferences, or professional training programs
  • Exceptional writing, speaking, teaching, and editorial skills
  • Strong ability to engage attorneys, judges, clients, academics, consultants, and technical experts
  • Credibility as a legal educator and subject matter expert
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Curious, rigorous, and energized by helping legal professionals navigate change
