The Role

We're partnering with one of our clients to hire a Senior Director of Marketing. This role will be focused on building and leading the marketing function from the ground up, reporting directly to the CEO of this real-time data infrastructure company. You'll set strategy and brand direction for the company while staying hands-on with the campaigns and content that need senior-level judgment. You'll manage a small team — directing their priorities while personally driving the initiatives that matter most.

This role suits someone who has led marketing at a growing technical company, is comfortable without a large team beneath them, and moves easily between strategy and execution.

What You'll Do

● Own marketing strategy and brand positioning, aligned to company-wide revenue and growth goals

● Define messaging for a technical, developer-and-enterprise audience, and represent the brand voice in external materials like the website, sales enablement, and thought leadership

● Personally lead high-priority campaigns, content, and launches that require senior ownership

● Set direction and priorities for the events contractor and Marketing Operations team member, coaching them on strategy while they handle execution

● Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Engineering to align launches and messaging with the roadmap

● Serve as the senior marketing voice in leadership conversations with the CEO, CTO, and Head of Finance/RevOps

● Own the marketing budget, vendor relationships, and team KPIs, and build out process as the function matures

What We're Looking For

● 8+ years of marketing experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role (Director or above) at a B2B or technical company

● Proven ability to operate as both a strategic leader and an individual contributor — comfortable being hands-on when needed

● Experience managing marketing operations, campaigns, and/or events, either directly or through a small team

● Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical concepts into compelling narratives

● Experience partnering closely with executive leadership (CEO, CTO, or equivalent)

● Comfort operating in a fast-moving, resource-lean environment where you're building process as you go

● Demand generation experience, with a track record of building or running campaigns that drive pipeline

● Familiarity with the data infrastructure, streaming, or open-source developer tools space is a strong plus

Nice to Have

● Experience marketing to both developer and enterprise buyer audiences

● Background in product marketing or brand strategy

● Experience scaling a marketing team from a small base

Why Join Us

This is a rare opportunity to shape a marketing function from an early stage, with direct access to the CEO and a real seat at the leadership table. You'll have the autonomy to set strategy and the support to execute it, backed by a company solving real problems in the data streaming space.
