The Role

We're looking for an exceptional Director or Senior Director of Product to define, build, and scale the next generation of oncology products at Viz.ai — a role at the intersection of oncology, product, commercial strategy, AI, and customer experience. We're looking for someone who deeply understands the oncology ecosystem and can translate unmet needs into products that clinicians love, customers buy, and that ultimately help more patients access lifesaving treatments.

You'll operate at multiple altitudes: understanding the oncology market, engaging leading KOLs and customers, defining product strategy, writing detailed PRDs, rapidly prototyping new experiences, and partnering with engineering, design, product marketing, sales, clinical, and Inbound Product Management to get products into clinicians' hands. The ideal candidate combines the market instinct of a commercial leader, the customer obsession of a great product manager, and the execution rigor of a product builder.

What You'll Own

Define the Oncology Product Strategy

  • Build a differentiated oncology product strategy grounded in customer needs, market opportunity, competitive dynamics, and Viz's unique strengths — informed by deep, ongoing relationships with oncology KOLs, clinicians, and health-system leaders.

  • Identify unmet needs and market gaps where technology can meaningfully improve patient care and create commercial value, and translate them into business cases that help leadership prioritize investment.

  • Spend significant time directly with customers and users, and maintain a current view of competitors, emerging technology, and evolving oncology care models.

Build Products People Actually Use

  • Own products end-to-end — from insight and concept through requirements, launch, adoption, and ongoing optimization — writing PRDs that clearly connect the user problem, requirements, and business rationale.

  • Partner with Design, Engineering, and Inbound Product Management to build products that are intuitive and clinically meaningful, and that stay consistent with the broader Viz platform.

  • Use modern AI-native and agentic tools (eg. Figma Make, Claude Code, Claude Design) to test ideas directly with customers before committing engineering resources.

Drive Go-to-Market in Partnership with BD, Commercial & Clinical

  • Partner with BD, Commercial, Sales, and Product Marketing to build go-to-market strategy, articulate value proposition and positioning, and identify lighthouse customers and design partners — this is joint ownership, not a solo mandate.

  • Partner with Clinical and the Chief Medical Officer to make sure go-to-market claims and positioning are clinically sound.

  • Define and monitor metrics across adoption, engagement, customer value, commercial performance, and patient impact.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of oncology-adjacent healthcare experience (clinical, commercial, diagnostics, or life sciences), with a sophisticated understanding of the oncology ecosystem and clinical workflows.

  • 5+ years of product management experience building and launching complex healthcare, software, AI, or technology products.

  • A highly commercial mindset — comfortable sizing markets, understanding buyers, and connecting product decisions to revenue and growth, working in true partnership with BD and Commercial rather than owning commercial strategy solo.

  • Strong relationships within the oncology ecosystem, or a demonstrated ability to rapidly build credibility with leading clinicians and KOLs.

  • Strong understanding of modern AI products and real enthusiasm for agentic, AI-native development — comfortable prototyping your own ideas rather than only spec'ing them for someone else.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to move fluidly between clinicians, engineers, commercial teams, executives, and customers.

  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, in areas with no established playbook.

Bonus Qualifications
  • Oncology clinical licensure (MD, APP/PA/NP, or RN with oncology specialization) a plus, but not required.

  • Experience with oncology-specific EHR or workflow systems (e.g., Epic Beacon, iKnowMed, ARIA).

  • Experience with life sciences or pharma partnership models in oncology.

  • Advanced degree (MD, MBA, or MPH) a plus, but not required.
