Forbes is seeking an experienced journalist to oversee its CIO community, quarterbacking events in that sector and writing stories and developing lists featuring the best of the industry. The ideal candidate is a keen observer of tech, broadly and deeply versed in its history and the innovations shaping its future. They should be comfortable on stage and at home conducting high-calorie interviews, whether they are speaking to longtime CEOs or new entrepreneurs on the cusp of breaking out. They should have a great nose for news and eagerly contribute to and ideally drive the ongoing public conversations about tech and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Forbes CIO community
  • Lead Forbes’ annual CIO Next list 
  • Program and host Forbes’ annual CIO summit, and extend the franchise
  • Represent Forbes at live events and conferences, and on video
  • Pitch, report and write must-read features and profiles for digital and print

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of journalism experience 
  • Facile at programming, convening and hosting live journalism events
  • Able to converse easily with CTOs and CIOs about their priorities with a knack for facilitating conversations that matter to this group of executives 
  • Well sourced across tech
  • Strong writer who communicates effectively and clearly with a strong point of view that stands out
  • Overflowing with ideas drawn from sourcing and sharp observation 
  • Comfortable working remotely

The annual base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000
