Summary

The Enterprise BI and Analytics Analyst serves as a senior analytics subject matter expert responsible for translating complex business needs into scalable analytics solutions that support data-driven decision-making across MCW. This role acts as a critical bridge between business stakeholders, operational leaders, BI developers, reporting analysts, data management teams, IT, and external partners. In addition, this role focuses on cross-system analytics, enterprise data models, and advanced analytical solutions delivered through enterprise BI platforms.

The Senior Analyst leads requirements discovery, performs advanced data analysis, and designs data transformation logic and functional specifications for enterprise analytics dashboards, reports, and data products. This role plays a key part in shaping the organization’s analytics capabilities by improving data accessibility, enabling actionable insights, and promoting modern data visualization practices.

Working both independently and collaboratively, the role investigates complex cross-system data challenges—often spanning enterprise platforms such as Workday, enterprise data warehouse environments, and BI reporting tools—and develops practical solutions. The role requires strong analytical expertise, independent problem solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment where business requirements evolve rapidly.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead complex analytics initiatives by translating business requirements into scalable data models, transformation logic, and analytics solutions.

  • Conduct advanced requirements analysis and develop detailed functional specifications for enterprise dashboards, analytics applications, and BI reporting solutions.

  • Partner with Workday reporting teams to translate operational system data into enterprise analytics models and curated datasets within the BI environment.

  • Design calculations, metrics, and transformation logic to ensure consistent and accurate analytics across reporting platforms.

  • Perform complex data analysis and root cause investigation across multiple enterprise systems and data sources.

  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues involving enterprise applications, data pipelines, and reporting environments.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners—including the Workday Solution Center—to investigate and resolve system or data integration challenges.

  • Work closely with operational leaders, BI developers, reporting analysts, and data management teams to ensure analytics solutions align with business goals and operational workflows.

  • Provide leadership in analytics design by recommending best practices in data modeling, metric definitions, and data visualization standards.

  • Mentor analysts and collaborate with BI developers to improve analytics quality, performance, and scalability; with measurable contributions to team capability and delivery outcomes expected as evidence of effective mentorship.

  • Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of enterprise analytics architecture and reporting standards.

  • Partner with departments across MCW’s missions and clinical enterprise to expand and mature the organization’s analytics footprint.

  • Support and enhance the enterprise BI intake and triage process to improve prioritization and delivery of analytics initiatives.

  • Analyze enterprise reporting usage and recommend improvements to optimize analytics delivery and operational efficiency.

  • Write advanced SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across enterprise data platforms.

  • Ensure high standards for data quality, data governance, and data accuracy in analytics deliverables.

  • Focus on design, development, and maintenance of the enterprise reporting platforms like SSRS, Qlik, and SSAS cubes, rather than operational reports generated directly from transactional systems.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, business logic definitions, and data mapping documentation for analytics solutions.

  • Manage multiple concurrent analytics initiatives, balancing competing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and reliability; consistently meet agreed-upon timelines and quality deliverables while maintaining transparency and communication with role manager on a regular basis.

  • Adapt quickly to evolving business requirements and guide analytics solutions through changing priorities and organizational needs.

  • Participate in enterprise analytics initiatives and cross-functional projects as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational databases for data analysis, transformation, and scripting.

  • Experience with enterprise BI technologies including, but not limited to, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Qlik analytics tools or equivalent (for example, Tableau, Power BI).
