Senior ETL/BI Application Engineer
Overview
The Senior ETL/BI Application Engineer is a key member of the Enterprise ETL/BI Operations team, responsible for administering and optimizing critical analytics platforms supporting Medicaid Enterprise Data Warehouses, Pharmacy Benefits Management, and Medicaid Management Information Systems.
This position is not a developer role, though it may require close collaboration with ETL developers, data engineers, report developers, infrastructure teams, and security teams.
Hands-on experience administering Tableau Server/Tableau Cloud Administration and Informatica PowerCenter / IDMC / CDI-PC Administration in large, regulated healthcare or government environments is essential. Experience with Business Objects and/or Cognos Administration is a significant plus.
Key Responsibilities
Tableau Administration
- Administer Tableau Server/Tableau Cloud across dev/test/prod environments.
- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Tableau platforms.
- Manage users, groups, permissions, licensing, and security.
- Monitor performance, capacity, and server health.
- Troubleshoot extracts, refresh failures, and workbook performance issues.
- Support HA/DR configurations and scheduled refreshes.
Informatica Administration
- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Informatica PowerCenter / IDMC / CDI-PC on Linux.
- Manage user roles, security, domains, repositories, and services.
- Troubleshoot ETL job failures, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity issues.
- Maintain platform stability and support change management processes.
Security & Compliance
- Enforce HIPAA, Medicaid, CMS, and state data governance policies.
- Support LDAP/Active Directory, SSO (e.g., ForgeRock), and access management.
- Provide audit logs, security documentation, and usage reporting.
- Ensure PHI/PII security across all BI platforms.
Performance, Monitoring & Operations
- Track platform usage, adoption, and system performance trends.
- Optimize extracts, queries, and configuration settings for peak performance.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for platform and user issues.
- Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response.
Data Integration & Collaboration
- Maintain connections to Medicaid Enterprise Data Warehouses and related sources.
- Coordinate refresh schedules and data availability with ETL and data engineering teams.
- Support certified data sources and semantic layer governance.
- Create runbooks, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years administering Tableau Server/Tableau Cloud in enterprise environments.
- 5+ years administering Informatica PowerCenter v10.x+ on Linux.
- Strong understanding of BI security, permissions, and performance tuning.
- Experience in regulated environments (Medicaid, healthcare, government, or finance).
- SQL proficiency and experience with enterprise authentication (SSO, ForgeRock).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Medicaid or healthcare Enterprise Data Warehouses.
- Knowledge of CMS reporting, Medicaid data domains, or program integrity analytics.
- Tableau Server Certified Associate/Professional certification.
- Experience with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, shell).
- Experience with Business Objects or Cognos.
- HIPAA/PHI/PII compliance
Work Environment
- Supports critical Medicaid analytics used by state agencies and leadership.
- Collaborates with data warehouse, reporting, infrastructure, and security teams.
- Rotating on-call or after-hours support required for upgrades, deployments, or critical issues.

Pay Transparency Laws in some locations require disclosure of compensation and/or benefits-related information. For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $100K - 123K annually.
