Senior Executive ‐ Industrial Systems Engineering

We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to assist to effectively manage the IE & WS unit, ensuring the identification of the most effective work methods, setting of accurate standard times for operations, and coordinate with internal parties to facilitate the achievement of required plant efficiency level whilst continuously improving the operational standards across bodywear.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate at the Style briefing to gather/ understand relevant details with regard to new styles.

  • Estimate the machine requirement one month prior to the PSD and give details to the maintenance team in a timely manner.

  • Participate at the planning meeting and provide necessary feedback on style loading.

  • Identify best handling methods by working with the method lab whilst also, identifying the best work place arrangements for operations.

  • Gather relevant data and calculate Standard Minute Values on GSD.

  • Prepare operations breakdowns and manpower requirements whilst, communicating same to production thereby, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of same.

  • Prepare documentation such as the QCO Report, FIF updates. 

  • Update KPI boards in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Monitor work study methods and time study methods such as activity sampling/ motion time analysis on identified operators, employing the best work study methods.

  • Monitor the pilot run and discuss method improvements together with the technical team. 

  • Ensure the availability of machinery whilst providing feedback to Planning as and when the need arises.

  • Ensure production issues related to work study such as bottle necks, operational variations and operator issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner.

  • Attend PP meetings, obtain and communicate required information to the team. 

  • Work with supporting teams to ensure availability of required resources.

  • Follow-up on machine pre-settings/ pre-training prior to the commencement of production by coordinating with the relevant departments/ teams.

  • Assess resource requirements, provide information for the preparation of annual budgets and monitor/ control departmental expenditure ensuring it is in line with the budget.

  • Work on special projects (dancing module) as per management requirements and in order to do improvements streamline and increase the effectiveness & efficiency of the processes.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Degree/ Diploma in a Textile and Apparel relevant field. 

  • 2 – 3 years of relevant work experience.

  • Good Negotiation and Communication skills.
