Your Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and enthusiastic Senior Financial Analyst to join our rapidly growing Commercial Finance Consumables Rebates team! Combining an understanding of finance with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, this candidate will own key rebates forecasting and reporting processes, partner cross-functionally with Merchandising and the Rebates Center of Excellence, and help drive Gross Margin performance through accurate financial analysis, forecasting, and business insights.
This role offers significant visibility across Finance and Merchandising and will play an important role in supporting vendor negotiations, forecasting processes, and strategic decision-making within one of Chewy's largest business units. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, enjoys working with complex financial data, and demonstrates the ability to independently investigate issues, connect financial impacts across multiple business functions, and drive analyses from question through recommendation.
What You'll Do:
  • Own recurring Straight Pay and rebate forecasting processes, including variance analysis, forecast updates, and financial reporting supporting Gross Margin planning.
  • Perform financial modeling and analytics required to synthesize large data sets, identify key business drivers, and communicate concise recommendations and insights to Finance and business leadership.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve recurring reporting, forecasting tools, and financial mechanisms supporting vendor funding, rebates, and financial planning.
  • Partner closely with Merchandising, the Rebates Center of Excellence, Accounting, FP&A, and other Finance teams to understand rebate programs, vendor contracts, accounting impacts, and financial performance.
  • Analyze financial results, investigate variances across multiple data sources, and proactively identify risks, opportunities, and business trends impacting Gross Margin.
  • Support monthly close, forecasting, quarterly planning, and annual operating plan processes while ensuring financial outputs are accurate, well-documented, and decision-ready.
  • Improve financial processes through automation, documentation, and development of scalable reporting solutions.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities while working independently in a fast-paced environment with evolving business needs.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of Finance, FP&A, Accounting, or analytical experience with a solid understanding of financial statements and forecasting processes.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and root-cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, think critically, and connect detailed analyses to broader business implications.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Power Query preferred) and strong PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, and attention to detail with the ability to independently investigate issues and drive solutions.
