Role Summary:

Self is searching for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Strategic Finance Analyst to join our growing Finance team. The Senior Strategic Finance Analyst position will play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making across the organization with a focus on supporting the profitable growth of Self’s various consumer financial products.

This position requires advanced financial modeling skills, a deep understanding of consumer financial products, including credit cards and unsecured loans, a strong analytical mindset and the ability to communicate complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.  The ideal candidate is comfortable working cross-functionally with product General Managers, Risk, Marketing, Analytics and Product to evaluate the financial feasibility of new products and initiatives while also finding ways to optimize the profitability and growth of existing products. 

What you will do:

  • Evaluate organizational tradeoffs of proposed initiatives and act as a key decision-maker in business and operational strategies
  • Assist in the development of long-term revenue and expense forecasts to support long-term strategic decision making 
  • Provide financial guidance on product pricing decisions, product launches and potential new business or investment opportunities
  • Ensure that existing and future debt facilities have sufficient capacity to support long-term growth of unsecured products 
  • Support product GMs in achieving critical quarterly and annual business objectives
  • Develop and monitor key business performance metrics, including product-level Unit Economics, to help deliver business insights to product GMs
  • Identify opportunities to improve product-level profitability and gross margins
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities and risks affecting the financial performance of Self’s various consumer financial products
  • Contribute to the preparation of presentations for internal stakeholders, summarizing financial results and insights. 
  • Analyze financial results, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide actionable insights
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and reports on financial performance and strategic recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to scale and improve Self’s financial processes as we continue to build out the Finance team and function

What you’ll have:


  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working in FP&A or Strategic Finance within FinTech, financial services, investment banking or consulting
  • Strong analytical skillset and a desire to solve complex business problems
  • Experience with debt capital markets a plus
  • Advanced financial modeling skills 
  • Proficiency with Excel, Tableau and other software used to support financial modeling and reporting
  • Knowledge of SQL and ability to work with large data sets preferred
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Base salary is $124,000-165,000 annually.  Individual pay is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, and other job-related reasons.
