Your role at Dynatrace

Dynatrace is looking for a creative and driven engineer to join our team and make a significant impact on the OpenTelemetry community and the Dynatrace platform. If you thrive on building high-quality software, collaborating with a global community, and working on the cutting edge of technology, we want to hear from you.

Your role:

  • Build and maintain high-quality, scalable software using Go (Golang).
  • Become a key contributor to the OpenTelemetry project, including the OpenTelemetry Collector and related ecosystem projects.
  • Design, implement, and improve components that enhance our OpenTelemetry-based observability solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers at Dynatrace, as well as the wider OpenTelemetry community, to help drive our strategy.
  • Think strategically about the integration of OpenTelemetry and AI within the Dynatrace platform to deliver next-generation observability.
  • Work hands-on with Kubernetes and other cloud-native technologies to validate and improve OpenTelemetry integrations.
  • Participate in design discussions, conduct and receive thoughtful code reviews, and help create documentation, examples, and guidance for the community and our customers.
What will help you succeed

We are looking for a senior-level engineer who is not only technically proficient but also a strong collaborator and community advocate. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of deep technical skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.

  • Strong Go (Golang) experience building non-trivial systems or components.
  • Practical experience with OpenTelemetry or the OpenTelemetry Collector (a strong advantage), as well as an active interest in Open Source (GitHub contributions are a plus).
  • Understanding of how metrics, traces, and logs are processed in distributed systems.
  • Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new AI-powered tools and developer workflows and apply them pragmatically in a production environment (e.g. LLM-based coding, testing, or troubleshooting workflows).
  • Comfortable with Kubernetes and the cloud-native ecosystem.
Why you will love being a Dynatracer
  • A one-product software company creating real value for the largest enterprises and millions of end customers globally, striving for a world where software works perfectly.
  • Working with the latest technologies and at the forefront of innovation in tech on scale; but also, in other areas like marketing, design, or research.
  • Working models that offer you the flexibility you need, ranging from hybrid options to home ones and in-office work.
  • A team that thinks outside the box, welcomes unconventional ideas, and pushes boundaries.
  • An environment that fosters innovation, enables creative collaboration, and allows you to grow.
  • A globally unique and tailor-made career development program recognizing your potential, promoting your strengths, and supporting you in achieving your career goals.
  • A truly international mindset that is being shaped by the diverse personalities, expertise, and backgrounds of our global team.

For this position we offer exclusive relocation support to our R&D Headquarters in Linz, ranked among the top seven most sustainable cities in the world, where cutting-edge innovation intersects with an exceptional quality of life and affordable living costs! Click this link to find out more.

  • We offer attractive compensation packages and stock purchase options with numerous benefits and advantages.
  • Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary for this position, which is € 74,000 up to € 92,000 gross per year based on full-time employment (38.5 h/week).
