Build and scale Geolava’s spatial intelligence products across frontend and backend systems. Design APIs, data models, and LLM agent workflows; own features from design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration. Collaborate with product, design, research, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, polished solutions. The role requires strong product judgment, autonomy, production Python experience, full-stack TypeScript and React expertise, cloud infrastructure knowledge, and familiarity with agent loops, RAG, MCP, and geospatial technologies.

At Geolava, we bring AI to the physical world. We are building spatial intelligence systems by leveraging world models to simulate the evolution of the physical world over time. We continuously model real-world dynamics, simulate actions, and forecast their impact on assets.

We are backed by top-tier VCs and have been revenue-generating from day one. This is your opportunity to join as a founding team member to help define the future of spatial intelligence from the ground up.

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to build and scale Geolava's spatial intelligence products. This role sits at the intersection of frontend, backend, and product thinking. You’ll work across the full stack, leading the design and delivery of features end-to-end while helping shape how the product evolves. The focus is not just writing code, but understanding user problems deeply, making strong product and technical tradeoffs, and translating them into thoughtful, well-designed solutions.

This role is scoped for an operator with high autonomy, ownership of complex product systems, and will help define engineering standards as Geolava grows.

Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)
  • Design and build scalable fullstack systems for enterprise and government customers.

  • Work across the stack, from designing APIs and orchestrating LLM agent workflows, to structuring robust data models that ensure a seamless connection to the user interface.

  • Own end-to-end feature development—from early design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to understand requirements, refine technical scope, and drive successful, reliable feature delivery.

  • Collaborate closely with researchers and engineering teams to integrate reliability, evaluation, and guardrails into production systems.

  • Take ownership of ambiguous problems and drive them to practical, high-quality solutions.

Your Background
  • Have 5+ years of experience writing maintainable, production-quality code

  • Full-stack fluency — You’re productive across frontend (TS/React/Next.js) and backend (Python/Node.js/PGSQL), and can lead work across the stack without heavy dependency on others.

  • Strong product sense — You think about why a feature exists, not just how to build it. You ask good questions, push back when needed, and make thoughtful product and engineering tradeoffs in service of the user experience.

  • Shipper — Can operate with high agency, owning problems end-to-end with minimal supervision. Enjoy working in fast-moving, cross-functional teams with engineers, product managers, designers, and researchers.

  • Quality bar — You think about edge cases, loading states, error handling, responsiveness, and interaction design. You ship features that feel complete and hold a high standard for polish

  • Scrappy & Scaled — You have the startup experience to build from zero with a nimble team, plus the big-tech exposure to know what breaks when a product hits massive scale

  • Clear communication — Excellent skills in communicating technical trade-offs across the stack with clarity and precision to both frontend and backend partners.

  • AI-fluent — You use AI coding tools daily and know how to wield them effectively as a multiplier deeply into your development workflow.

Technical Requirements
  • Extensive backend experience with end-to-end ownership of Python-based services in production, not just contributing to one.

  • Experience building and maintaining ReAct-style agent loops/LangGraph equivalents.

  • Understanding of RAG and MCP systems, client/server tool negotiation and schema versioning.

  • Frontend development experience with TypeScript + React.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, including S3, ECR, Docker, EB; IAC is a plus).

  • Some experience with geospatial fundamentals such as GeoJSON, polygons, H3 spatial indexing, map libraries (Mapbox/Leaflet), and GDAL is beneficial.

Why Join Geolava?
  • Be at the cutting edge of Physical AI.

  • Take a central and critical role at Geolava.

  • Work with, and learn from, top-notch talent.

  • Competitive salary.

  • Excellent benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k retirement plan, short & long term disability and life insurance.

Geolava is committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace and promoting a safe, healthy working environment for all employees.

Geolava is an equal opportunity employer and has a global remote workforce. Applicants are considered solely based on their qualifications, without regard to an applicant’s disability or need for accommodation.
