About Reunion

Reunion is transforming the way clean energy projects are financed. Since 2024, our tax credit transfer business has partnered with major corporations to unlock over $8 billion in clean energy investment, including some of the industry's largest transactions. Our compliance business is building disruptive software for developers to track operations and ensure regulatory compliance.

Reunion has built a consistently profitable company, focused on building for the long term. We raised a small seed round of funding in 2023, and have since repaid our investors in full. We do not have pressure from VCs or outside investors to chase short-term targets; we have the autonomy to focus on building a great long-term business. Reunion's laser focus on solving tough problems has resulted in repeat customers and strong profitability since 2024.

We have worked hard to build a mission-driven company culture that values creativity, collaboration, excellence, and speed without sacrificing fun. Our talented team includes experienced leaders from SunEdison, SolarCity, Tesla, GoodLeap, and other clean energy companies; we are consistently amazed by what our 30+ person team of experts can accomplish.

We look for curious, smart, and kind colleagues with an entrepreneurial streak (we have quite a few ex-entrepreneurs on our team). Reunion is a great place to learn from energy finance experts and play a critical role in deploying clean energy technologies such as battery storage, nuclear, manufacturing, solar, and wind.

About the role

In 2025, we launched Reunion PWA, a software solution that helps developers comply with prevailing wage and apprenticeship (PWA) requirements to unlock the full value of clean energy tax credits. Reunion PWA is rapidly gaining traction in the market, and we’re growing our team to accelerate adoption and expand to additional compliance offerings. Join us in the fight against climate change by helping renewable energy developers build faster!

This role will have an immediate impact at a fast-scaling software startup, helping build and adapt systems and processes amid rapid growth. As a senior engineer, you'll enjoy a high degree of autonomy and trust. Your responsibilities will include implementing backend services using AWS technologies, developing user-friendly front-end components, and ensuring the scalability and efficiency of our serverless architecture and Next.js application. This role offers a challenging yet rewarding environment where you will be able to share your expertise with junior team members while collaborating with our growing engineering team and helping to develop our engineering culture. If you're passionate about technology and enjoy solving complex problems, we'd love for you to join us on this exciting journey!

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy high-quality software solutions to ensure we provide the best possible product to our customers.

  • Develop and maintain a robust, scalable, and efficient serverless architecture.

  • Work with testing frameworks and CI/CD tools like Jest and GitHub Actions.

  • Utilize Turborepo, Next.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and ShadCN to build front-end applications that interface seamlessly with backend systems.

  • Build robust data scrapers to create proprietary compliance databases and onboard customer data via data integrations

  • Identify opportunities to automate audit processes using AI agents

  • Work through problems with your team, roll up your sleeves, form an opinion, and advocate for engineering-specific roadmap items.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer.

  • Proficiency in AWS services, including CloudFormation, Lambda, RDS, Elasticache, Cognito, CloudFront, and S3.

  • Strong expertise with the Serverless Framework.

  • Extensive experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Proficiency in Next.js.

  • Familiarity with Jira (or similar tool) for task management.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • You are eager to contribute to Reunion’s climate-focused renewable energy mission.

  • You have a passion for collaboration and a history of establishing great relationships with design and product management teams across time zones.

  • You are curious about constantly learning new things, and you enjoy working collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • You have a commitment to technical excellence, enjoy maintaining a high level of code quality & consistency, and you're passionate about shipping code quickly.
