Role Description

At Dropbox, people are at the heart of everything we do — all in pursuit of driving business impact. We’re looking for a Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support senior leaders within G&A, partnering closely to strengthen organizational health, develop talent, and deliver effective people programs. You’ll operate independently across core HRBP responsibilities, serving as a trusted advisor and problem-solver in a complex, fast-moving environment. You’ll balance strong judgment and influence with hands-on execution, helping leaders navigate people challenges while ensuring programs land effectively for teams.

Our HRBP team’s mission is simple but powerful: empower leaders and employees to do their best work. We do this by aligning people strategies with business goals, enabling growth and innovation while strengthening our culture. At Dropbox, we pride ourselves on being a Virtual First company that gives people the freedom to work where they’re most effective, while also fostering strong connections and collaboration. Joining our team means shaping not only our people strategy but also the future of how work gets done.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior leaders to support organizational health, team effectiveness, and business performance within aligned client groups.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing thoughtful guidance, candid feedback, and practical coaching on people-related decisions.
  • Lead and execute core People Rhythm processes (performance, compensation, talent planning, engagement) with consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Apply sound judgment across HR disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, compensation, and talent development.
  • Support organizational design and change initiatives within scoped areas, helping teams navigate change effectively.
  • Champion Dropbox’s values by embedding them into day-to-day people practices and reinforcing a culture of inclusion and accountability.
  • Use data, insights, and leader input to identify themes, risks, and opportunities, translating them into actionable recommendations.
  • Navigate ambiguity with confidence, prioritizing effectively and driving outcomes through influence and execution.
  • Collaborate closely with People team partners (COEs, People Ops, Legal) to deliver integrated and scalable solutions.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including meaningful time in HR Business Partner roles supporting senior leaders.
  • Proven experience advising leaders in complex organizations and solving people challenges with sound judgment.
  • Experience supporting leaders through organizational change, growth, or restructuring.
  • Solid depth across multiple HR disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, compensation, and talent planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently across core HRBP areas, with strong execution and follow-through.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills across levels and functions.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, adapting to change, and driving clarity.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize employee experience as a product, with proven success applying product management principles (roadmapping, user journeys, feature prioritization) to HR initiatives
  • Proficiency in leveraging design thinking methodologies to deeply understand employee needs, rapidly prototype experience solutions, and implement data-driven iteration cycles that measurably enhance engagement and retention
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Psychology, Communication or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to global and/or distributed teams
  • Experience contributing to or improving people programs and processes within a function or business unit
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing HR teams
  • Familiarity with or expertise in AI industry technologies and ethical principles, and ability to identify related business opportunities in HR. Candidates with a pre-existing comfort level and familiarity using AI to enhance productivity are strongly preferred.
