Overview
We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team partnering with the Engineering organization at Atlassian. You will play a pivotal role in developing and aligning our people strategy with the goals of our Engineering teams, enabling us to scale and deliver best-in-class products and services. You will coach leaders to build world class engineering teams, lead transformation and unlock constraints to drive the business forward. The ideal candidate brings commercial acumen, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to influence and drive change in a collaborative, solutions-oriented way. You will operate across all levels - from strategy to execution - navigating ambiguity and proactively solving complex problems to help our Engineering teams thrive.
Responsibilities
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Engineering leadership to develop and execute a people strategy and roadmap aligned to the Engineering vision and long-term objectives.
  • Business Enablement: Operate as a trusted advisor, leveraging analytics and data to inform strategic decisions and drive business outcomes.
  • Program Management: Lead the end-to-end delivery of people programs, ensuring alignment with Engineering's needs and operational excellence.
  • Organizational Design: Architect the future organization model, considering product strategy, revenue growth, geographical footprint, and our digital-first vision.
  • Change Leadership: Drive organizational design, workforce planning, and change management initiatives to support growth and scalability.
  • Coaching & Development: Coach senior leaders through organizational challenges, talent strategies, and leadership development.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Centers of Excellence (COE) to bring craft expertise to the business and engage proactively to solve problems.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilise people analytics to provide actionable insights, trends, and recommendations to guide planning and measure success.

Candidate Profile
  • Experience: 10+ years in HR, with a proven track record as a Business Partner supporting high-growth, global Engineering or technical organizations.
  • Business Acumen: Strong ability to translate business strategy into practical people strategies that deliver business impact.
  • Team Player and Influencer: Demonstrated ability to build strong, trusted relationships and to effectively collaborate and influence in order to deliver impact across geographically distributed stakeholders and teams.
  • Problem Solving: Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, proactively identifies and solves complex problems, and delivers measurable impact.
  • Strategy to Execution: Comfortable operating up and down the ladder, from high-level strategy to hands-on execution, and able to juggle multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership: Experience partnering and coaching senior leaders to navigate and lead change and business transformation
  • Learn-It-All Mindset: Demonstrates a passion for continuous learning, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace new technologies-including AI-to drive innovation and growth

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $189,000 - $246,750
Zone B: $170,100 - $222,075
Zone C: $157,500 - $205,625
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
