Own the architecture and long-term direction of Polymarket’s intelligence-fusion platform. Design detection and correlation methods, ingest on-chain and OSINT data, improve data pipelines, automate investigation workflows, and build auditable tooling with analysts and investigators. The role requires deep experience in data or detection engineering, entity resolution, data fusion, scoring, corroboration, and scalable scheduled and event-driven systems. Experience with fraud, trust and safety, investigations, blockchain, or crypto data is advantageous.

About Polymarket

Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future.

We're growing fast, both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.

About the Role

The Global Intelligence & Investigations team sits inside Legal and exists to protect Polymarket, its customers, and its reputation. The team detects, investigates, and neutralizes threats to the platform, from market manipulation to coordinated evasion, using a mature, in-house intelligence-fusion platform built specifically for this work.

The best version of this hire is an engineer who thinks like an investigator and a builder at once. Someone who gets curious about how manipulation actually works, invents detection approaches before we've seen the pattern in the wild, and treats every closed investigation as a data point that should make the system smarter.

What You'll Do
  • Own the architecture and long-term direction of the intelligence-fusion platform, making the technical decisions that determine where the system goes, not just how it runs today.

  • Design new detection and correlation approaches that anticipate how manipulation and evasion evolve, rather than codifying patterns we've already seen.

  • Ingest new on-chain and OSINT data sources, and extract more signal from the data pipelines already integrated, including finding value in sources we aren't using yet.

  • Build automation that closes the gap between a signal firing and a case being assigned, removing the manual steps that slow investigators down.

  • Pair directly with analysts and investigators to translate their instincts and manual workflows into repeatable, auditable tooling that holds up to legal scrutiny.

What We're Looking For
  • Ownership mindset with a track record to back it up. You've owned a complex data system end-to-end over a multi-year horizon, made real architecture decisions, and left it materially better than you found it.

  • Senior data or detection engineering experience at scale. Deep fluency with SQL, Python or equivalent, data pipelines, and both scheduled and event-driven systems. You make architecture decisions, not just implement them.

  • Hands-on depth in data fusion and entity resolution. You can take heterogeneous, messy inputs, resolve them to a shared entity model, and reason carefully about scoring and corroboration so real signals rise and noise stays down.

  • Comfort working directly with investigators and analysts. You translate domain instinct into a working technical capability, and you care that what you build holds up under legal and audit review.

  • Genuine interest in market integrity and the problem of catching people who don't want to be caught. The mission has to matter to you, not just the engineering.

  • (Plus) Prior experience working alongside fraud, trust and safety, or investigations teams.

  • (Plus) Exposure to on-chain or crypto data analysis, including working with blockchain transaction data, wallet clustering, or similar.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary & equity

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage

  • 401k match

  • Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories

Austin’s tech scene spans many verticals, but it’s particularly known for hardware, including semiconductors, as well as AI, biotechnology and cloud computing. And its food and music scene, low taxes and favorable climate has made the city a destination for tech workers from across the country.

Key Facts About Austin Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 180,500; 13.7% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Dell, IBM, AMD, Apple, Alphabet
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, hardware, cloud computing, software, healthtech
  • Funding Landscape: $4.5 billion in VC funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Live Oak Ventures, Austin Ventures, Hinge Capital, Gigafund, KdT Ventures, Next Coast Ventures, Silverton Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Texas, Southwestern University, Texas State University, Center for Complex Quantum Systems, Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, Texas Advanced Computing Center
