We’re Hiring: 6 Senior IRIS/Cache Engineers (Remote Contract)

HL7 Interfacing Inc. is actively seeking six experienced Senior IRIS/Cache Engineers to join our remote team. These are contract roles supporting healthcare data interoperability across major clinical systems. We’re looking for candidates with a strong foundation in InterSystems IRIS/Cache, HL7 integration, and experience working in cloud or containerized environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using IRIS/Cache technologies.

  • Implement CQ Initiator/Responder workflows with an emphasis on performance and reliability.

  • Develop and integrate complex HL7 interfaces using SDA, CCDA, and JSON standards.

  • Support IRIS production and deployment within Kubernetes environments using IKO.

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to optimize integration workflows.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide analytical solutions rooted in domain expertise.

  • Use SFTP, HL7, and HTTP adapters to support efficient data exchange.

  • Maintain code and version control using GitHub, Serena, and VSCode in Linux/Unix systems.

Technical Skill Proficiency (Self-Rated Expectations):
  • IRIS/Cache object scripting, custom classes, extension properties – 7/10

  • IRIS production and IKO deployment (Kubernetes) – 6/10

  • Custom HL7 (SDA, CCDA, JSON) interface development – 8/10

  • CQ Initiator/Responder workflows – 7/10

  • Azure cloud exposure – basic

  • Adapter usage (SFTP, HL7, HTTP) – 6/10

  • Communication and collaboration – 7/10

  • Version control and Linux-based dev environment – strong

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Minimum 4 years of experience working with InterSystems IRIS/Cache

  • Proven experience developing HL7 interfaces with SDA, CCDA, and JSON

  • Familiarity with cloud environments, especially Azure

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities

  • Excellent communication skills in team-based environments

Role Details:
  • Contract-based (W2, 1099, or Corp-to-Corp)

  • Duration: 6 to 24 months

  • 100% remote

  • Compensation options:

  • $6,250/month on C2C

  • $39/hour on 1099

  • $34/hour on W2

  • All-inclusive — no benefits provided
