At Veracity, we aim to be a different kind of insurance partner – one that is free from outside investors, venture capital, or the pressures of a corporate parent.

Ours is a culture of empowerment – one that believes in effort, results, and accountability. We believe that transparency fosters trust, trust fosters growth, and that growth drives innovation. Our commitment to rigorous evaluation and relentless execution lead to rapid evolution.

We answer only to the small business owners we serve, and this independence allows us to stay focused on what matters most: helping their businesses thrive by providing expert guidance and best-in-class insurance policies.

We’re growing fast and want you to be a part of it!

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Learning and Development Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, this remote role partners with leaders, subject matter experts, and employees to assess learning and performance needs, recommend effective solutions, and lead complex initiatives from discovery through evaluation.

Success in this role looks like diagnosing the root cause of a performance challenge, not just fulfilling training requests; leading complex work with limited oversight; and strengthening the team’s practice through coaching and cross-training. The ideal candidate is comfortable sharing expertise, learning from colleagues, and building credible knowledge of Veracity’s insurance business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders, SMEs, and other stakeholders to understand business goals, performance challenges, employee-readiness needs, and desired outcomes
  • Conduct needs and performance assessments to identify root causes and recommend the right mix of learning, knowledge, performance support, reinforcement, communication, or process support
  • Independently lead complex learning and enablement initiatives from discovery and recommendation through design, implementation, stakeholder communication, and evaluation
  • Design, develop, and facilitate high-quality learning and performance solutions using adult-learning and instructional-design principles across in-person, virtual, and digital formats
  • Establish practical success measures and evaluate solutions using participant feedback, assessments, behavior and performance indicators, and other relevant data
  • Support product, process, system, and organizational changes by identifying employee knowledge, skill, and readiness implications and recommending appropriate enablement approaches
  • Create reusable knowledge and performance-support resources, and use learning technologies and AI-enabled tools to improve quality, scalability, efficiency, and access to information
  • Share expertise, learn from colleagues, and cross-train with other L&D team members so knowledge and capability are distributed across the function; provide constructive feedback and help strengthen team standards and professional practice
  • Develop and maintain sufficient knowledge of Veracity’s business, insurance products, processes, audiences, and operating environment to provide relevant and credible L&D support
  • Manage multiple priorities independently, communicate risks and progress, and support other L&D initiatives as business needs evolve
  • Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Requirements and Qualifications
Required

  • 3–5+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, talent development, organizational learning, instructional design, training, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience conducting needs analysis or performance assessment and translating business needs into practical learning and performance solutions
  • Experience independently leading learning initiatives or programs from discovery through implementation and follow-up
  • Strong understanding of adult-learning principles, instructional-design methodologies, and evaluation practices, with strong facilitation, communication, writing, consulting, project-management, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, work through ambiguity, challenge assumptions constructively, and recommend solutions beyond formal training when appropriate
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, reviewing, knowledge sharing, or cross-training with peers or less-experienced practitioners
  • Comfort learning and using modern learning technology and AI-enabled tools, with the ability and willingness to build strong working knowledge of Veracity’s insurance business and employee audiences

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience with learning management systems, Articulate 360 or similar authoring tools, Confluence or other knowledge platforms, learning analytics, or AI-supported learning workflows.
  • Experience supporting change/readiness initiatives, leadership or manager development, or cross-functional learning programs
  • Insurance-industry experience and/or a Property & Casualty (P&C) license is helpful but not required at hire

Perks

  • Health, dental, and vision plans
  • Amazing work-life balance with 4 weeks of Paid Time Off
  • 10 Paid Company Holidays with 2 floating holidays
  • 401K Programs with employer match
  • Personal assistance programs for support in a healthy personal and work life
