This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced technology environment, enjoys advising on cutting-edge product and privacy issues, and acts as a true business partner across a global organization. You will play a core role in helping shape product development, privacy strategy, and cross-functional initiatives while supporting Linktree’s rapid growth.

You’ll need strong experience advising on innovative products and privacy issues for an international technology company, with deep experience of US and European privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA. You will also ideally bring generalist legal skills such as commercial drafting and negotiation, incident response, consumer protection, marketing and advertising review, and support for operational teams.

This is a senior individual contributor role expected to operate with significant independence, influence cross-functional programs, and provide leadership across the business without direct reports.

What You'll Do

  • Reviewing new products and features, and advising on necessary changes.
  • Developing proactive privacy policies and guardrails for the Product function.
  • Working with our Privacy team and advising on US and European privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and emerging state privacy regimes.
  • Working with Product, Engineering, Growth, Brand, Trust and Safety, and other teams to support Linktree’s business and ensure compliance across internal and public-facing initiatives.
  • Assisting our Support and Operations teams with escalations, disputes, and user issues.
  • Providing real-time legal advice and clear operational guidance to teams and squads across Linktree.
  • Supporting privacy operations, including DPIAs, data mapping, vendor assessments, and data governance improvements.
  • Contributing to cross-functional programs and helping develop processes, guidance, and scalable policies.

What You'll Bring

  • Be qualified to practise law in at least one US state.
  • Have 7 to 10 years of strong post-qualification experience, with a significant emphasis on product counseling and US and EU privacy law.
  • Have detailed knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and broader US and European privacy frameworks, as evidenced by CIPP or equivalent certifications
  • Have experience advising on technology products, data flows, and platform operations.
  • Have strong commercial drafting and negotiation experience, including for data protection agreements
  • Experience advising on AI, machine learning features, or data governance programs.
  • Have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Be a self-starter who is comfortable working with autonomy and driving matters forward.
  • Have strong business judgment and a practical, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Have excellent communication skills – your job is to make the complex simple.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity, context-switching, and a fast-paced culture.
  • Be able to collaborate with global teams and overlap some working hours with teams in other time zones.
  • Periodic travel for team onsites or cross-functional workshops may be required.
  • Must be legally authorised to work in the United States.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience advising on the Digital Markets Act, Digital Services Act, or other European regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, including SaaS, licensing, vendor, and data processing agreements.
  • Experience advising on marketing initiatives, brand campaigns, creator partnerships, and advertising compliance.
  • Experience in payments, e-commerce, online platforms, or the creator ecosystem.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Experience supporting Trust and Safety, security, or compliance teams.
