Role Overview  

The VelocityEHS Senior Lifecycle Email Marketing Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing email marketing across the full prospect and customer lifecycles. As a member of the Demand Generation team, this role will own lifecycle email strategy and programs that drive engagement, demand generation, conversion, adoption, retention, and expansion.  

The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in lifecycle and email marketing, with a focus on creating impactful, measurable communications for a B2B audience. This role combines strategic program ownership with hands-on execution, including lifecycle journey development, email copywriting and messaging, audience segmentation, personalization, testing, performance measurement, and ongoing optimization.  

The Senior Lifecycle Email Marketing Manager will lead the use of Marketo and 6sense email solutions, including AI capabilities, leveraging audience data, segmentation, personalization, and performance insights to strengthen lifecycle communications. This role will also ensure AI-generated content and recommendations meet VelocityEHS standards for brand voice, compliance, accuracy, and quality.  

This role requires a strong understanding of lifecycle marketing strategy, email marketing tools and best practices, and the ability to collaborate across Sales, Demand Engagement, Product Marketing, Design, Marketing Operations, and other cross-functional teams to align email strategies with broader marketing initiatives and business objectives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Own lifecycle email strategy and execution across prospect and customer journeys, setting the roadmap, calendar, communication cadence, and program priorities to support conversion, adoption, retention, and expansion. 
  • Lead the use of Marketo and 6sense email solutions, including the AI Email Agent (AIE), overseeing nurture programs, segmentation, personalization, automation, and standards for AI-generated content, QA, and ongoing optimization. 
  • Develop, write, edit, and optimize email copy and messaging across lifecycle programs, including subject lines, body copy, calls to action, and nurture sequences. Adapt messaging by audience, persona, lifecycle stage, and program objective while maintaining VelocityEHS brand voice and quality standards. 
  • Establish channel goals and maintain performance dashboards; lead monthly and quarterly business reviews connecting email engagement, lifecycle progression, pipeline, and customer outcomes to program decisions. 
  • Partner across Marketing to develop prospect and customer lifecycle strategies, including nurture programs, segmentation, communication cadences, and opt-in/opt-out processes. 
  • Translate lifecycle strategy into end-to-end email journeys across the prospect and customer lifecycles, coordinating web and other channel activity across the VelocityEHS solution portfolio to ensure leads and accounts are routed into relevant nurture programs and campaigns with clear coverage, sequencing, and progression. 
  • Develop and manage a structured testing roadmap across messaging, subject lines, calls to action, design, targeting, personalization, send timing, and nurture sequences, using results to improve program performance. 
  • Govern email frequency, suppression rules, subscription preferences, and audience overlap; partner with Marketing Operations to monitor deliverability and resolve issues. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align email activity with broader marketing and business objectives, ensure AI-generated outputs meet brand and compliance standards, and apply evolving best practices in lifecycle marketing, email, AI, privacy, and deliverability. 

Minimum Skills & Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 
  • 6–8 years of experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, demand generation, marketing automation, marketing communications, or a similar role. 
  • Demonstrated ability to set lifecycle email strategy, prioritize a program roadmap, and improve conversion, adoption, retention, or expansion through measurable program improvements. 
  • Strong understanding of B2B marketing and the role of email across prospect and customer journeys. 
  • Hands-on experience with relevant marketing automation and email tools, including Marketo and 6sense, with experience using or managing AI-enabled workflows, automation, personalization, and campaign optimization capabilities. 
  • Solid understanding of email and lifecycle marketing principles, including audience segmentation, nurture strategy, personalization, performance measurement, A/B testing, deliverability, subscription management, and program optimization. 
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills, with demonstrated experience developing email messaging for different audiences, personas, lifecycle stages, and campaign objectives. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate campaign data, performance trends, and AI-enabled insights into strategic recommendations. 
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple programs, timelines, stakeholders, and priorities. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to evaluate email and AI-generated content for accuracy, brand alignment, compliance, and quality. 
  • Ability to build trust and collaborate across departments, adapt to changing priorities, and take accountability for channel outcomes and performance. 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications  

  • Experience in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) environment. 
  • Experience managing lifecycle programs across both prospect and customer audiences. 
  • Experience establishing processes or governance for AI-assisted marketing programs. 

VelocityEHS is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices by offering market-based salary ranges. The expected salary range for this position is between $86,850 and $120,100 CAD (Canada). We aim to hire between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range and offers at the maximum of the range are uncommon. The final offered salary will be based on candidate’s proficiency in skill set, prior relevant experience, internal equity, market considerations, and other factors. This role is also eligible for our comprehensive benefits package.
