We are seeking a Senior Manager, Category Management to join our Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM) Team. As a Senior Manager, Category Management you will be responsible for the holistic relationship between Capital One and key third parties, enabling a well-managed and adaptable supply chain. You will apply your strategic and analytical skills to create and strengthen relationships with industry leading companies in the automotive space, specifically related to sales, marketing and financial services businesses. You will work closely with internal team members establishing and maintaining relationships with internal business customers, account teams and assigned suppliers. This role is essential in the delivery of key cost, risk, and performance management-related efforts for third-party relationships, in addition to identifying strategic opportunities for growth and/or greater return on investment.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Negotiation: Partner to negotiate contracts and deals for a fast paced, motivated business group within Capital One
  • Problem Solving & Strategy Advice: Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers. Identify value-generating opportunities (e.g. savings, efficiencies, or revenue growth).
  • Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for third parties and manage an effective governance between Capital One and assigned third parties.
  • Collaboration: Build strong internal relationships with key stakeholders that creates alignment on business strategy and fosters ability to move quickly on desired business outcomes in a well managed way.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and ensure successful delivery against third party contractual obligations. Partner with internal risk groups to ensure third party relationships are compliant with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Process Management: Accountable for policy requirements for all managed third-party relationships. Plan and lead periodic reviews and assessments of supplier relationships.
  • Supplier Sourcing: Maintain awareness of the external marketplace as it relates to your suppliers and perform sourcing activities where appropriate.
  • People Management: Serving as a people manager, coach and mentor to develop less seasoned and experienced Supplier Managers in their development.
  • Partnership: Evaluate industry trends, technological shifts and market dynamics to identify and engage the right partners to advance the development of Capital One projects, programs and products that positively impact the customer experience
  • Executive communication: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 4 years of experience in Relationship Management
  • At least 3 years of experience in Contract Management or Deal Negotiation
  • At least 2 years of experience in Risk Management
  • At least 5 years of experience with people leadership
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal and external senior executives
  • At least 2 years of experience in the Automotive Industry

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in the Automotive Industry
  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Management, Relationship Management or Procurement
  • 3+ years of experience in Risk Management
  • 4+ years of experience in Contract Management or Deal Negotiation
  • 3+ years of experience in Operations, Process or Project Management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Plano, TX: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr. Manager, Supply Chain
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
