Role Overview
Individual Contributor
Circana is looking for strong analytical talent to deliver clear, actionable insights for a Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) client with brands in OTC, Nutrition, Oral Care, and Skin Care. This role supports marketing, brand, and sales teams by turning point-of-sale (POS), consumer, and e‑commerce data into meaningful guidance that drives business performance.
You’ll work directly with the client, build and present insights, develop dashboards, support training, and help maintain high‑quality data assets. The ideal candidate brings solid analytical grounding, strong client presence, and the ability to translate data into simple, practical recommendations.
Proximity to client in Northern New Jersey strongly preferred.
Job Responsibilities
Analytic Capability
- Break complex business questions into smaller analytical steps.
- Analyze point-of sale (POS), consumer panel, and e‑commerce data to understand drivers such as distribution, velocity, pricing, and promotion.
- Compare multiple potential explanations, pressure-test findings, and translate them into clear, practical recommendations.
- Support monthly new‑item reviews and summarize performance drivers in a straightforward way.
Technical Savvy & Quality Control
- Build dashboards, reports, and workflows using Unify (preferred), Tableau, Power BI, and Excel.
- Maintain and update custom datasets; check assumptions, logic, and outputs to ensure accuracy.
- Follow established processes to keep client data consistent, reliable, and easy to use.
- Turn data into simple, visual stories that help the client understand what is happening and why.
Planning, Organizing & Communicating
- Manage recurring reporting cycles, project timelines, and ad‑hoc requests across multiple brands (OTC, Nutrition, Oral Care, Skin Care).
- Coordinate work with internal partners and client teams; communicate timelines, risks, and updates early.
- Prepare clear deliverables for client meetings (dashboards, PowerPoints, summaries).
- Support training sessions by walking teams through tools, dashboards, and core metrics.
Client Focus
- Build strong working relationships with day‑to‑day client partners and internal teammates.
- Respond to questions with quick, accurate analyses and follow-through.
- Present insights in a way that is direct, practical, and easy for the client to apply.
- Keep client needs at the center of your work and deliver with consistency.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working with syndicated data, analytics, category management, or related CPG insights roles.
- Hands‑on experience with syndicated data sources such as Circana/IRI/NielsenIQ.
- Strong understanding of POS data and common CPG drivers (distribution, velocity, price, promotion, competition).
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that support brand, marketing, or sales decisions.
- Experience with data visualization and dashboard tools.
- Solid project management skills: able to organize work, manage timelines, handle recurring cycles, and communicate status clearly.
- High attention to detail and comfort managing multi-step analytical workflows that require quality checks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to work in a consultative, client-facing environment and communicate findings in a clear, practical way.
- Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams (internal and client-side) and supporting both recurring and ad‑hoc requests.
