Independence American Insurance Co is seeking a Senior Manager, Compliance who will report to the Director, Compliance. The Senior Manager, Compliance is responsible for managing the development, implementation, and enforcement of programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Job Location: Remote – USA
  

Main Responsibilities:  

  • Identifies compliance risks and engages appropriate stakeholders around risk awareness and mitigation in area(s) of focus.
  • Provides support to ensure actions/outcomes are aligned across all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders, as well as external resources, to ensure all compliance related matters are appropriately understood and enforced.
  • Participates in strategic initiative discussions as a compliance subject matter expert; provides guidance and input on new and existing state and federal laws and regulations that may impact strategy.
  • Oversees the activities that influence the compliance and/or risk programs for area(s) of focus and ensures team alignment with company goals, processes, and values.
  • Coaches and develops team talent and capabilities, responsible for development of necessary performance plans.
  • Ensures company-wide regulatory training and education activities are effective and meet regulatory expectations in area(s) of focus.
  • May represent the organization to regulators and other entities in government compliance matters.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Basic Qualifications:  

  • 8 year’s work experience in legal, compliance, insurance or related relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (One-year relevant experience is equivalent to one-year college)

Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position: Days and hours to be determined by needs of business.  Hours to be determined between employee and director
