Role Purpose:

The Senior Manager, Customer Insights and Category Management serves as a strategic partner to the Customer account teams in development of data-driven insights and category strategies that deliver joint growth and drive market share. This role is responsible for synthesizing shopper, consumer, and category insights into compelling stories that support key customers for multiple Food & Beverage categories.

Acting as an insights leader, the Senior Manager collaborates with Sales, Trade Marketing, Brand, and other cross-functional partners to uncover growth opportunities by analyzing sales trends, consumer & shopper insights, market share data, and competitive activty. This role requires a strong command of syndicated and panel data sources, a strategic mindset, and the ability to translate analytics into clear business recommendations across product assortment, shelf/planogram design & other omni merchandising levers to deliver mutual growth for Hain and our retailer partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead insights & analytics efforts for assigned key customers, monitoring trends across industry and channel dynamics, retailer strategies, category performance, and shopper behavior.
  • Partner with Sales and cross-functional teams to develop & deliver compelling insights presentations, business reviews, and growth strategies that advance business outcomes for Hain and Retailers alike.
  • Build strong retailer relationships and act as a trusted category advisor, with data-driven recommendations across product assortment, shelf & aisle design and other omni-merchandising strategies, proactively identifying growth opportunities and addressing areas of risk.  
  • Leverage multiple data sources (syndicated, panel, shopper card, loyalty, etc.) to identify trends, quantify opportunities, and assess business performance.
  • Distill complex data into clear, actionable insights that influence both internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Align insights with broader company and customer objectives to support joint business planning and go-to-market strategies.
  • Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert in insights, elevating the function’s impact across the organization.
  • Support the development of channel strategies and product portfolio & innovation planning by providing insight into shopper behaviors, unmet needs, and white space opportunities.
  • Contribute to best practice sharing, process improvement, and insight capability building across the Category Management & Customer Insights Team.
Preferred Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Psychology, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in Category Management, Insights, or Trade Marketing within the CPG or retail industries - specifically supporting Walmart.

Preferred:

  • MBA preferred.
  • Data Analytics and/or Customer Account Management experience an asset.

 

Competencies and Proficiency Requirements:

  • Deep experience with syndicated data tools (e.g., IRI, Nielsen, SPINS) and shopper/loyalty platforms (e.g., 84.51°, Numerator, Luminate).
  • Proven ability to extract meaningful insights and translate them into strategies that drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills with the ability to influence internal and external audiences.
  • Experience managing large datasets, applying advanced analytics, and using visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities with attention to detail.
  • Agile, results-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
