Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is a global nonprofit organization working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies. What You'll DoProgram Context

CATF is expanding how it uses data, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to strengthen decision-making and increase its climate impact. Working within the Organizational Effectiveness function, this role will partner with teams across programs, advocacy, communications, development, finance, operations, People, and Information Technology. You will help colleagues identify practical opportunities, strengthen organizational data practices, and responsibly adopt new tools and ways of working.

As Senior Manager, Data & AI Strategy, you will lead initiatives that help CATF work smarter, learn faster, and scale its impact in addressing climate change.

Responsibilities
  • Data & AI Strategy – Shape CATF's approach to data, artificial intelligence, analytics, and emerging technologies, focusing efforts on opportunities with the greatest organizational and mission impact.

  • Strategic Advisory & Problem Solving – Partner with leaders and teams to identify challenges and translate organizational needs into practical, scalable solutions.

  • Portfolio & Program Management – Build and advance a prioritized portfolio of initiatives based on organizational value, feasibility, readiness, and measurable outcomes.

  • Data-Informed Decision Making – Strengthen the use of metrics, reporting, and insights to support planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement across the organization.

  • Responsible Technology Adoption – Develop recommendations and governance approaches that support the ethical, secure, and effective use of AI and organizational data.

  • Change Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement – Drive adoption through communications, training, facilitation, and engagement strategies that help employees embrace new tools and practices.

  • Organizational Learning & Innovation – Build staff capability, promote knowledge sharing, and foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in strategy, analytics, organizational effectiveness, digital transformation, AI, data strategy, management consulting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives involving technology, process improvement, organizational change, or data-driven decision making.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and evolving business needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate insights into action.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience influencing decisions and driving adoption across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, accessible language.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, mission-driven, research, advocacy, or philanthropic organization.
  • Experience evaluating or implementing AI, analytics, or technology-enabled transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence, reporting, or data visualization tools.
  • Exposure to data governance, responsible AI, privacy, or knowledge management practices.
  • Knowledge of climate, energy, environmental, or public policy issues.
  • Experience working in globally distributed organizations.

Location

This position may be based in locations where CATF is authorized to employ staff. Candidates must be authorized to work in the country in which they will be employed.

Compensation & Benefits

CATF is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation practices.

For candidates based in the United States, the anticipated salary range for this position is $117,709 - $147,000 USD. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and geographic location.

Compensation for employees outside the United States is country-specific. Employees are paid in the currency of the country in which they reside and are employed. Salary ranges are developed using local market data and may vary by location.
