Signature Aviation is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science to join the company’s Data Science & Continuous Improvement (CI) team. As the operator of the largest network of fixed base operators (FBOs) in the world, Signature Aviation sits at the center of the aviation ecosystem with access to complex operational and commercial datasets.  The Senior Manager, Data Science is responsible for unlocking the value of that data – transforming it into actionable insights, predictive capabilities, and AI-driven solutions that improve operational performance, guest experience, workforce optimization, and financial outcomes.

 

This role serves as a player-coach, balancing strategic leadership and people development with direct participation in technical solution development and delivery. The Senior Manager, Data Science will remain hands-on in the design and development of analytics solutions, data pipelines, ETL processes, machine learning models, and analytical frameworks while coaching and developing a high-performing team of Data Scientists, Senior Analysts, and Analysts.  This leader will also develop collaborative relationships with leaders across the enterprise and ensure that data science solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Data Acquisition, Engineering & Integration Leadership

  • Design, develop, and oversee scalable ETL/ELT processes that support enterprise reporting, advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives

  • Partner with IT, HRIS and business teams to improve data accessibility, reliability, quality, and governance

  • Establish standards and best practices for data ingestion, transformation, integration, and quality assurance

  • Participate directly in the development and optimization of data pipelines, data models, and analytical datasets

  • Ensure analytical solutions are built upon reliable, governed, and well-structured data assets

 

Business Partnership & Value Realization

  • Establish executive-level reporting on data science outcomes, model performance, and enterprise impact

  • Define success metrics and monitor realization of business benefits from analytics initiatives

  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and with measurable returns

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on analytics, AI, and emerging technologies

  • Drive adoption of analytical solutions and ensure measurable business impact

 

Strategic & Team Leadership

  • Develop and execute the Operations data science roadmap aligned with company strategic objectives

  • Partner with executive and operational leaders to translate business challenges into data-driven strategies and solutions

  • Identify and prioritize high-value opportunities for predictive analytics, machine learning, optimization, and AI solutions

  • Lead and develop a team of Data Scientists, Senior Analysts, and Analysts

  • Operate as a player-coach by providing both strategic direction and hands-on technical execution and leadership

  • Build organizational data science capabilities through coaching, technical development, and succession planning

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in a data science or advanced analytics role

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience managing direct reports

  • Demonstrated success delivering business value through predictive analytics, machine learning, optimization, or AI initiatives.
  • Experience applying statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to real-world business problems

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills 

     

Additional knowledge and skills:

  • Experience working across the full analytics lifecycle, from data acquisition and transformation through insight generation and operationalization
  • Experience deploying Advanced analytics, predictive modeling, optimization, and AI-driven solutions into production environments
  • Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration processes
  • Experience consuming and integrating APIs for data capture/ingestion
  • Experience translating business needs into technical and data requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern data transformation frameworks
  • Experience with cloud-based analytics environments (Databricks preferred) and modern data platforms

  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and analytics engineering principles
  • Experience using GIT for configuration control
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work both independently and with cross-functional teams
  • Leadership presence and the ability to confidently engage with executive leaders and frontline team members in formal and informal settings
  • Willingness and ability to lead through both strategic direction and hands-on technical execution
  • Ability to execute amidst competing priorities 
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts and model results to non-technical audiences

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect analytical outcomes to operational and financial performance
