The Senior Manager, Field Engineering will oversee generator onboarding projects, ensuring effective communication, project management, and technical oversight while collaborating with customers and third-party contractors.

About the role
- AiGent has an immediate opening for a world-class Senior Field Engineer who is passionate about learning new concepts, hardware, energy markets and what customers need. You are intellectually curious, detail and solution oriented and you thrive in a fast-paced, customer-centric technical environment.
- The objective of this role is to successfully set up the generator with the correct hardware and software to ensure reliable assets. You will be working with the AiGent teams, customers, third-party contractors as well as utilities. As the project manager for all hardware onboarding projects and hardware upgrades, you are the connective tissue and need to ensure strong communication among all stakeholders and timely project completions.
While primarily focused on project management and technical oversight, you should be prepared to get hands-on with installations when needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage all project phases of all generators onboarded
- Lead all kickoff activities with customer and build a project plan for each facility
- Manage the onboarding project(s) and successfully validate hardware and connectivity of the facility
- Ensure customer generators are connected to our ecosystem and are maintained and healthy so they are reliable assets
- Be a technical SME for customers and be able to define and build project plans with the customer, utility and third-party contractors
- Build the kickoff meeting and onboarding project protocols (eventually grow the team)
- Maintain a customer-centric approach throughout all project phases
- Build systems and a team that scales: Projects should be deployed faster YoY
- Work closely with the engineering team to continuously improve our hardware and software products and expand options for hardware needed in the field to reliably manage generator assets
- Technical advisor to the GTM team
- Build an alert system with engineering for hardware issues or connectivity issues
- Own hardware alerting protocol including repair cases and troubleshooting
- Own relationships with critical utility members
- Build a trusted-contractor network
- Partner with AiGent President on channel partnerships and processes

Qualifications
- Strong alignment with AiGent values and mission
- Electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of project management experience
- 3+ years working with utilities
- Experience and deep understanding of gensets and their ATS
- Track record of success as a project manager managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
- Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving
- Exceptional attention to detail and self-initiative
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and improvement
- Preferred: Experience in the virtual power plant / distributed power plant industry
- The role is remote - it is important that team members are excited about working remotely and have the right environment to be successful. Though remote, there is a strong preference for someone located in Texas or nearby states.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites as needed
