Company Overview

Deepgram is the leading platform underpinning the emerging trillion-dollar Voice AI economy, providing real-time APIs for speech-to-text (STT), text-to-speech (TTS), and building production-grade voice agents at scale. More than 200,000 developers and 1,300+ organizations build voice offerings that are ‘Powered by Deepgram’, including Twilio, Cloudflare, Sierra, Decagon, Vapi, Daily, Cresta, Granola, and Jack in the Box. Deepgram’s voice-native foundation models are accessed through cloud APIs or as self-hosted and on-premises software, with unmatched accuracy, low latency, and cost efficiency. Backed by a recent Series C led by leading global investors and strategic partners, Deepgram has processed over 50,000 years of audio and transcribed more than 1 trillion words. There is no organization in the world that understands voice better than Deepgram.

Company Operating Rhythm

At Deepgram, we expect an AI-first mindset—AI use and comfort aren’t optional, they’re core to how we operate, innovate, and measure performance.

Every team member who works at Deepgram is expected to actively use and experiment with advanced AI tools, and even build your own into your everyday work. We measure how effectively AI is applied to deliver results, and consistent, creative use of the latest AI capabilities is key to success here. Candidates should be comfortable adopting new models and modes quickly, integrating AI into their workflows, and continuously pushing the boundaries of what these technologies can do.

Additionally, we move at the pace of AI. Change is rapid, and you can expect your day-to-day work to evolve just as quickly. This may not be the right role if you’re not excited to experiment, adapt, think on your feet, and learn constantly, or if you’re seeking something highly prescriptive with a traditional 9-to-5.

Team Overview

Deepgram is scaling fast, and we're doing it as a fully remote, increasingly global company that is starting to build hub offices. As Deepgram grows, clear and effective internal communication becomes increasingly important to keeping our employees informed, connected, and aligned. This role will help ensure that employees understand what’s happening across the company, hear consistently from leadership, and have the context they need to stay connected to our mission, priorities, and each other.

The Senior Manager, Internal Communications will build and evolve the systems, channels, and communications practices that help Deepgram communicate effectively as we grow. This includes partnering with leadership and teams across the company to bring clarity to important company moments, strengthen connections across a distributed workforce, and create a consistent employee experience.

This is a highly cross functional, internal communications role at its core. As an early member of the Communications team, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute to adjacent areas where internal communications expertise is valuable, including executive communications, company narrative, major company moments, and employee advocacy. You'll report to the Head of Communications.

Key Goals
  • Keep employees informed and aligned: Develop clear, timely communications that help employees understand what is happening across Deepgram, why it matters, and how it connects to our company priorities and direction.

  • Strengthen connection across the company: Create effective ways for employees to hear from leadership, understand what is happening across the organization, and stay connected to the company and to one another as Deepgram grows and operates across locations and time zones.

  • Build a clear internal communications system: Establish thoughtful channels, cadences, and practices for how information is shared across the company, partnering with functional leaders in those areas, and ensuring employees know where to find information and what to pay attention to.

  • Partner with leadership on employee communications: Help the CEO and executive team communicate clearly and consistently with employees across all-hands, memos, Slack, and other channels, including helping draft and shape communications in their voice.

  • Organize communications for major company moments: Partner with the right people at the right time to ensure unique internal communications strategies exist for important company moments, ensuring employees receive clear, timely, and consistent information about the moments that matter.

  • Make the company narrative clear internally: Partner with the Chief Strategy Officer to help employees understand Deepgram’s mission, strategy, priorities, and company story, translating complex business and technical information into communications that are relevant and accessible to employees.

  • Partner with People on culture and employee experience: Work closely with the People team to develop effective ways to communicate and reinforce important culture and employee experience priorities, including the systems, channels, and moments that help employees understand and experience them consistently across the company.

  • Use data and technology to improve communications: Establish lightweight ways to understand whether communications are reaching employees and achieving their intended outcomes, and use AI and other tools to make the function increasingly effective and scalable.

  • Contribute to broader communications: Support executive communications, company narrative, employee advocacy, and other communications priorities where internal communications expertise is valuable.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, & Capabilities
  • Deep internal communications experience: has owned internal comms at a fast-growing company, not just contributed to it

  • Has experience with, or has thought deeply about, keeping a remote or distributed workforce connected to the company's values and to each other

  • Earns the trust of executives: can write in their voice, help them sound consistent over time, push back with candor, and handle sensitive information with discretion

  • Thinks in systems: designs a communications architecture and cadence on purpose, rather than adding more things to an already crowded ecosystem

  • Operates AI-native: uses AI as the default way of drafting, editing, summarizing, and measuring comms, and is excited to build workflows and agents for leverage

  • Writes clearly and quickly across formats, from a CEO all-hands narrative to a crisp Slack announcement

  • Translates complex technical and business news into plain language that works for engineers, researchers, sellers, and operators alike

  • Uses data and feedback to show what's working and iterate, not just ship and move on

Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-have, not required)
  • 5–8+ years in communications, most of it in internal or executive comms at a high-growth technology company

  • Experience at a fully remote or globally distributed company, ideally through a period of rapid headcount growth

  • Has communicated through major company moments, such as fundraises, launches, leadership changes, or reorgs

  • Has built an employee advocacy program or helped employees act as ambassadors for the company story

  • Experience at an AI, developer-first, or technical B2B company

  • Has built or owned an AI-powered comms workflow or tool, not just used AI tools occasionally
