Wells Fargo is seeking a Risk Analytics Senior Manager to lead a Decision Science valuation function within the Credit Card organization, focusing on Direct Mail channels, including Firm Offer and Invitational to Apply.
This role will lead the valuation strategy for Direct Mail acquisitions, overseeing how we optimize multi-million-dollar budgets and target the right customers using advanced analytical and financial frameworks. The leader will guide a highly technical team, leveraging credit bureau data, prescreen strategies, and sophisticated cash-flow modeling to drive profitable growth across Card acquisitions. In this role, you will:
  • Lead a team in building consistent valuation frameworks to guide credit card origination strategy using advanced methodologies and technology
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis, statistics, economics, and financial valuation
  • Manage and develop teams of excellent professionals, and managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk
  • Engage and influence peers, management, and experienced leaders companywide
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for transformation of data into actionable information that drives business outcomes, strategies, and risk control development
  • Manage modeling, forecasting, reporting, and data distribution tools and processes requiring significant technical complexity within analytics
  • Act as a technical expert for experienced management on highly complex issues
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding data aggregation, strategies, resources, and operations of risk analytics to meet business objectives
  • Interpret and develop risk policies and procedures for functions with low to moderate complexity within Analytics and Reporting
  • Recommend strategies and actions to be considered by management relative to high risk
  • Collaborate with and influence peers, all levels of professionals, including experienced managers
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Risk Analytics
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience leading and developing technical, analytics, or statistical modeling teams
  • Background in unsecured lending, with credit card experience strongly preferred, and deep understanding of credit risk drivers across products such as personal loans, auto, or mortgage
  • Deep experience supporting Direct Mail strategy for credit cards, including prescreen workflows, credit bureau data, and customer targeting
  • Expertise with financial valuation and cash-flow analysis, including NPV/CLV frameworks
  • Experience developing or supporting credit card strategies such as originations, line strategies, balance transfers, product upgrades, and retention
  • Experience working directly with credit bureau data and partnering with vendors such as Axiom, Experian, and MarketSwitch
  • Programming expertise in SAS and Python for data analysis, modeling, and valuation and strategy development
  • Demonstrated success optimizing large-scale marketing budgets and evaluating ROI for acquisition programs
  • Knowledge of credit underwriting, targeting frameworks, and acquisition funnel dynamics
  • Business development or portfolio valuation experience, including assessing partnership or cobrand opportunities
  • Graduate degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, engineering, or MBA with a quantitative focus
  • Executive-level communication skills with the ability to evaluate complex analytical outputs, synthesize key insights, and present well-reasoned recommendations that influence high-impact business decisions

Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
