The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing, you will collaborate and lead significant components of 3M’s global transfer pricing program.  This role will provide leadership to manage transfer pricing initiatives as well as operate as a strategic partner with stakeholders globally within and outside of Tax.  Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading the development and interpretation of 3M’s transfer pricing policies
  • Provide technical leadership to evaluate/lead transfer pricing implications of business changes
  • Ensuring alignment between transfer pricing policies, intercompany agreements, and operational activities
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for transfer pricing technical expertise within certain assigned areas
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing tax and transfer pricing team members and contributing to overall team capability building
  • Supporting internal controls, governance processes, and financial statement disclosures related to transfer pricing and Country‑by‑Country Reporting

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Tax,

    (completed and verified prior to start).

  • Ten (10) years of experience in transfer pricing within a multinational corporation, or accounting firm in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, JD) and/or professional certification (CPA, EA).
  • Prior experience in a large, matrixed, global organization.
  • Strong technical knowledge of US Treasury Regulations 1.482, the Transfer Pricing Guidelines from the OECD and international tax principles
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑country projects and engage effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrates strong judgment, accountability, and ownership of outcomes
  • Operates comfortably in complexity and ambiguity, balancing technical rigor with business practicality
  • Builds trust through collaboration, clear communication, and consistent execution
  • Models 3M leadership behaviors and contributes to an inclusive, high‑performing team culture

Work location:  

  • Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN OR, Washington, DC, OR Austin, TX.

Travel: May include up to 10% Domestic

Relocation: Is not authorized 

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $221,591 - $270,834, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
