The M&CS Solutions Engineer serves as the technical expert supporting C Spire's Managed & Cloud Services organization, partnering closely with Sales to design, position, and deliver innovative technology solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong customer engagement skills to drive recurring managed services revenue, improve customer outcomes, and ensure successful solution delivery.

Responsibilities:

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the trusted technical advisor supporting the M&CS (Managed & Cloud Services) sales organization throughout the customer lifecycle.

  • Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery sessions, identify customer business challenges, and design technology solutions that align with business objectives.

  • Architect and position managed services solutions across networking, cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, collaboration, connectivity, and related technologies.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for executive, technical, and operational stakeholders.

  • Develop solution architectures, technical recommendations, implementation assumptions, and supporting documentation for customer proposals and RFP/RFI responses.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Operations, Delivery, and Project Management teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, supportable, and profitable.

  • Identify opportunities to expand customer relationships by transitioning project-based engagements into recurring managed services.

  • Conduct customer presentations, whiteboarding sessions, demonstrations, workshops, and executive briefings throughout the sales cycle.

  • Serve as a technical resource during strategic customer pursuits, helping account teams develop winning solution strategies.

  • Provide technical coaching and enablement to Account Executives through repeatable solution plays, discovery frameworks, and technical best practices.

  • Ensure seamless transition of customer opportunities from Sales to Delivery by providing complete technical handoff documentation, project assumptions, dependencies, risks, and success criteria.

  • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, AI-enabled solutions, and competitive offerings.

Qualifications:

What You Will Bring

M&CS Solutions Engineer I

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years supporting enterprise technology, networking, cloud, cybersecurity, managed services, or technical sales.

  • Foundational understanding of enterprise networking, cloud infrastructure, security, and managed services.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to collaborate across Sales, Engineering, Product, and Operations.

M&CS Solutions Engineer II

  • 5+ years in sales engineering, solutions engineering, solutions architecture, managed services, or enterprise technology consulting.

  • Experience leading discovery sessions and developing complex solution designs.

  • Strong understanding of recurring revenue business models.

  • Experience supporting enterprise sales cycles and developing technical proposals.

Senior M&CS Solutions Engineer

  • 8+ years supporting strategic enterprise customers.

  • Expert knowledge across networking, cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, collaboration, and managed services.

  • Experience mentoring Solutions Engineers and influencing technical strategy.

  • Relevant industry certifications preferred.
