Responsibilities:

  • Own the narrative voice and tone for the English version of the game, ensuring clarity, naturalness, and strong appeal for global players
  • Rewrite and refine key story content—including main quests, dialogue, and worldbuilding text—through transcreation to improve pacing, clarity, and emotional impact
  • Identify narrative issues based on player feedback (e.g., community insights, user research) and drive improvements to enhance immersion and long-term engagement
  • Collaborate closely with design, level design, UI/UX, and other cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and effective narrative implementation across the game
  • Guide localization teams by establishing terminology, style standards, and quality benchmarks, continuously improving workflows and output quality

Qualifications:

  • Native or near-native English proficiency with strong writing and editing skills; working proficiency in Chinese is required to effectively collaborate with Chinese-speaking development teams and review source content.
  • 3+ years of experience in game narrative (Narrative Design, Game Writing, or Narrative Editing)
  • Experience with RPG, open-world, or action games is a strong plus
  • Strong player-centric mindset, with the ability to simplify complex ideas into clear and engaging content
  • Experience in localization or cross-cultural content adaptation is a plus; familiarity with game development pipelines

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and a 401k plan with company match. Total annual compensation package ranges from $110,000 - $230,000, with final offer dependent on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
