Lead development of customized, long-term partnership proposals and pitch materials for progressive clients. Drive partnership expansion, conduct competitive research to surface emerging digital tactics, act as subject-matter expert on social platforms, support client relationships, collaborate cross-functionally, and manage operational timelines with the Partnerships Associate to ensure seamless campaign execution.
We are looking for a creative, media-savvy Senior Partnerships Manager to sit at the intersection of strategy and client development at Vocal. This person will work closely with the Director of Partnerships to develop customized, long-term partnership proposals that speak directly to what each client cares about most — whether that's electoral impact, climate action, reproductive rights, or beyond. This is an opportunity to help lead the next frontier of progressive digital media tactics while making a meaningful impact on the most important social issues of our time. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of the digital media landscape who has built decks, pitched clients, and thought seriously about where media is heading — and who knows how to translate that expertise into proposals that move people to act.
Responsibilities
- Own the development of client-facing proposals and pitch materials — this is the core of the role; produce customized, long-term and rapid response proposals that reflect a deep understanding of each client's goals, issue area, and strategic priorities
- Develop the nuanced understanding needed to tailor proposals to different types of clients — knowing what a political funder needs to see versus a climate organization versus a reproductive rights group, and crafting each pitch accordingly
- Proactively identify opportunities to expand existing partnerships, pushing clients to think long-term and try new formats, platforms, and approaches that deepen and grow our work together
- Conduct robust research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, tools, and tactics across the broader digital world — translating findings into fresh ideas and concrete proposals clients are excited to act on
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on the future of digital media and emerging tactics, bringing a sharp, informed perspective to every pitch and sales setting
- Prioritize innovation and maintain a critical eye on program design — question assumptions and revisit strategy often to ensure continuous improvement
- Support client relationships by staying informed on account goals and contributing strategic thinking to partnership development, producing polished drafts that are ready for director review
- Partner with the Partnerships Associate to ensure operational systems, timelines, and deliverables are running smoothly
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to support seamless campaign execution
Who You Are
- A creative thinker with a strong POV on the digital landscape — always scanning for emerging trends, tools, and tactics and thinking about how they can drive impact
- Forward-thinking and energized by what's next — you get bored with "that's how we've always done it"
- Willing to push boundaries and bring bold, experimental ideas to the table with the rigor to back them up
- A confident communicator who can present on emerging and experimental work independently and compellingly
- Deeply committed to social impact and progressive causes, with experience working on purpose-driven campaigns and a strong cultural competency across issue areas
- Comfortable working across multiple clients and workstreams without dropping the ball
- Self-directed and organized — you own your projects from concept to delivery
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in partnerships, media strategy, branded content, or business development — agency or digital media environment strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to develop highly customized proposals and pitch materials tailored to specific audiences, issue areas, and organizational goals
- Expertise on the ever-changing digital landscape, particularly as it pertains to reaching niche audiences and how content travels across platforms
- Experience conducting competitive analysis and industry research to identify emerging trends and opportunities — and translate them into actionable partnership strategy
- Deep familiarity with major social media platforms — TikTok, Instagram, YouTube — and how brands and causes show up effectively on each
- Strong writing and presentation skills; highly proficient in Google Slides — able to build polished, client-ready decks from scratch
- Fluent in Notion for documentation, project tracking, and team collaboration; comfortable maintaining and navigating shared workspaces
- Experience with CRM tools and project management platforms (Airtable a plus)
- Familiarity with AI tools and workflow optimization a plus
- Must be based in the continental United States
Benefits
- Health insurance covered at 90% for full-time employees; Dental and Vision available
- Flexible PTO and sick leave
- Completely virtual work environment & one-time home office setup reimbursement, as well as home wifi stipend
- Work in any timezone within the continental US
- 401(k) plan
