Job Description – Senior Payroll ManagerJob Description Summary

Senior role within the US Shared Services Center responsible for the accurate, compliant and efficient delivery of payroll services for USA, Canada and Puerto Rico, ensuring strong payroll tax governance and driving continuous improvement with internal stakeholders and external providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for USA, Canada and Puerto Rico, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance.

• Own the quality and governance of Payroll Taxes & Reporting, ensuring correct filings, reconciliations and issue resolution across jurisdictions.

• Ensure robust execution and compliance of Certified Payroll requirements for Construction, including tax-related validations, audit readiness and timely reporting.

• Act as a senior escalation point for complex payroll and tax issues involving employees, vendors or authorities.

• Lead coordination with external payroll and tax vendors, ensuring SLA adherence, service quality and effective issue management.

• Drive process improvements, standardization and automation in partnership with HR, HRIS and providers, including effective use of Workday Payroll.

• Oversee payroll reporting and reconciliations to support financial accuracy and close processes.

• Build strong relationships with HR, Finance, Tax and the business.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Payroll Operations, including Payroll Tax and Reporting.

• Strong experience managing payroll for USA, with exposure to Canada and/or Puerto Rico.

• Experience supporting Certified Payroll or construction payroll compliance environments.

• Prior people management or senior lead experience in payroll or HR operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar.

• Proficient knowledge of operating Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• High integrity, discretion and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a multinational company or Shared Services Center environment.

• Workday Payroll experience.

• Spanish language will be valued

• Skills and experience with automation or AI tools will also be valued.
