About Stairwell

Stairwell is building the future of threat detection to combat the rising tide of AI-generated threats. Our platform helps security teams find threats that others miss by transforming how organizations collect, analyze, and act on file-based intelligence. We're a small, high-impact team solving hard problems at the intersection of cybersecurity and large-scale data systems.

The Role

You’ll lead projects end-to-end, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and customers. We expect a broad range of design skills, and exceptional taste. You’ll join a team at the forefront of cybersecurity and AI, unlocking security teams to triage and investigate threats more rapidly and comprehensively than they ever have before.

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven success in high-performing, fast-moving startup environments

  • Strong portfolio of product work users love, built with high-velocity teams

  • Great at turning complex user flows into intuitive experiences

  • Strong prototyping skills with a focus on clear visual communication

  • Comfortable with design systems and technical implementation

  • Excellent grasp of visual design, UI patterns, and interaction principles

  • Quick to ship, learn, and adapt fast

  • You are an AI native, leveraging AI tools to augment yourself and your workflows

  • Bonus: You ship to production, perhaps with a little help from AI

  • Bonus: Experience designing SOC workflows e.g., SecOps, threat detection and response, and/or threat intelligence products

  • Bonus: Experience designing AI products

What You’ll Do
  • Craft detailed user flows and high-fidelity mockups for new features

  • Own design projects from conception to delivery, collaborating with engineering or ideally implementing yourself with AI

  • Be scrappy and hands on with any design assets needed

  • Establish new scalable design processes that uphold quality standards

  • Champion quick wins and impactful improvements

  • Contribute to improving the design quality of Stairwell’s customer-facing AI

  • Help set the bar for design quality and the culture for how design works at Stairwell

Why Stairwell
  • You want to work on an advanced security platform purpose-built to fight the onslaught of AI-generated threats that other solutions simply aren’t adequate to handle

  • Hard technical problems with real security impact

  • Small team, huge impact, high autonomy, low process overhead

  • Opportunity to collaborate with world-class experts in cybersecurity

  • Work remotely in the USA, or use our co-working space in Santa Clara to collaborate with local teammates in-person
