A Little About Us

Yahoo Mail is the ultimate consumer inbox with hundreds of millions of users, helping them "Manage the business of life" through organization and speed. The Yahoo Mail Ads Monetization team is responsible for building and evolving advertising experiences across the Mail ecosystem. We focus on building scalable, user-centered monetization solutions that support long-term revenue growth while maintaining user trust and product quality.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead ads monetization initiatives across Yahoo Mail. You will own strategy and execution for ad experiences that drive durable revenue growth while protecting user trust, inbox utility, and product quality. This is a high-impact role at global scale. You will navigate hard trade-offs between revenue, user experience, latency, and privacy by leveraging modern AI systems to optimize performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the ads monetization roadmap for Yahoo Mail surfaces across web and mobile (inbox, message list, reading experience, and new product areas).

  • Define clear product goals and success metrics (revenue, engagement, trust signals, and latency) and drive end-to-end execution from discovery to launch.

  • Build and iterate user-centered ad formats, exploring AI-driven approaches for targeting and creative optimization to unlock performance gains.

  • Lead experimentation at scale (A/B testing, holdouts, incrementality), making high-stakes decisions based on data.

  • Identify opportunities to improve day-to-day productivity by integrating AI-assisted workflows into your research, PRD writing, and competitive analysis.

  • Partner closely with Ads Platform, Engineering, Design, and Legal to ship compliant solutions, balancing revenue goals with long-term user trust.

  • Improve targeting and relevance using first-party signals, maintaining a focus on privacy-forward alternatives to traditional behavioral targeting.

  • Triage and resolve critical ad issues, ensuring a high-quality, non-intrusive experience for our global user base.

  • Communicate crisp updates to executives and cross-functional partners, translating complex marketplace dynamics into clear business impact.

What You Bring

  • 6+ years of product management experience, including shipping multiple products from concept to launch.

  • 3+ years working on ads monetization and/or ad tech products (formats, targeting, measurement, marketplace dynamics).

  • Strong analytical ability with comfort using SQL and BI tools (Looker, Tableau) to self-serve analysis and validate experiment results.

  • Openness to leveraging modern tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude, or internal AI frameworks) to accelerate research, documentation, and data synthesis.

  • Hands-on experience working with products that use ML or model-driven systems, with a focus on defining requirements and evaluating performance.

  • Ability to work independently in complex situations, leading functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements.

  • Clear, direct communication style and a track record of driving alignment across large, matrixed organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in exploring how emerging AI technologies can be applied to ad technology and user experience.

  • Experience with large-scale consumer products (high DAU, global footprint).

  • Knowledge of ad measurement concepts (attribution, incrementality, viewability, brand safety).

  • Familiarity with privacy and consent expectations (GDPR/CCPA) and building compliant personalization.

  • Background working across Sales and Product, translating market needs into product strategy.

  • Proactive mindset regarding personal productivity and a commitment to using the best tools available to move faster.

What Success Looks Like

  • You ship ad experiences that grow revenue while keeping Yahoo Mail fast, useful, and trusted.

  • Your roadmap decisions are backed by measurable impact and a robust experimentation culture.

  • You leverage modern tools and automated monitoring to increase your own velocity and the quality of your product outputs.

  • Cross-functional teams align quickly because your priorities, metrics, and trade-offs are explicit.
