Overview

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to help redefine the future of sports publishing by transforming our platform into an AI-native ecosystem and building next-generation AI-powered fan experiences. This role sits at the intersection of AI, content systems, and sports fan consumption. You will lead the evolution of our publishing platform into a machine-readable, entity-driven system optimized for both direct user experiences and AI-powered discovery.

As a sports-focused company, this role requires a deep understanding of how fans consume sports content - including articles, highlights, live moments, and real-time experiences and how those behaviors are evolving in an AI-driven world. You will play a key role in shaping how AI is applied across the entire sports content lifecycle, from content creation and structuring to real-time highlights, personalization, and discovery.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with creative product thinking and understands how AI is fundamentally reshaping content discovery, attribution, user experience, and publisher economics. You will help define how a global publisher operates in an AI-native internet, shaping both the platform architecture and product experiences that power the next generation of sports content.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the evolution of Minute Media’s publishing platform toward an AI-native, where structured, machine-readable, and optimized for AI retrieval as well as user consumption.
  • Help define the long-term AI platform strategy for how content is created, structured, enriched, indexed, and retrieved across our ecosystem.
  • Define and own sports entity models and content frameworks (players, teams, matches, highlights, etc.)
  • Build AI-powered systems for content structuring, enrichment, and retrieval
  • Develop AI-driven fan experiences (e.g., summaries, recommendations, personalized content)
  • Define and execute a strategy for how Minute Media content is surfaced across emerging AI-driven discovery environments including: Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc. Ensure our content is optimized for retrieval, citation, attribution, and visibility within these environments.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners and AI platform providers to ensure strong representation of our content across emerging AI ecosystems.
  • Define the measurement frameworks needed to evaluate performance in AI-driven ecosystems. This includes defining metrics beyond traditional referral traffic, such as: citation share, AI visibility, and engagement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Editorial, Data, SEO, and Revenue teams.

What You Have

  • 5+ years of product experience within a digital publisher, media company, or content platform, with a strong background in sports publishing, sports media, or fan-facing sports products.
  • Deep understanding of the sports publishing ecosystem, including CMS platforms, editorial workflows, content monetization models, SEO, and Google Discover.
  • Strong technical fluency in AI systems, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector embeddings/databases, AI agents, entity models, and knowledge graph concepts.
  • Experience working with structured content models, entity-based search, AI crawling behaviors, and content retrieval mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated passion for AI and its impact on content, media, and user experiences, with a strong data-driven mindset.
  • Proven ability to define experimentation frameworks and measurement models, and collaborate with global, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Where You'll Be

  • Remote (East Coast Preferred)

The expected salary range for this position is between $135,000 and $150,000. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and location. This position is also eligible for performance-based compensation. The benefits available for this position include flexible vacation policy, 15 paid holidays, paid parental leave, health insurance, 401(k) with company match.

Not sure that you're 100% qualified but are up for the challenge? We want you to apply!
