Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the vision, strategy, and execution for Delinea's Desktop Client—the intelligent, cross-platform desktop application that gives users and workloads secure, contextual, and frictionless access to the resources they need to do their jobs. Desktop Client is the single client experience that unifies connection brokering, credential delivery, and protocol access across the Delinea Platform, giving customers one tool to access every resource just-in-time.

Desktop Client is a native application that connects users to databases, servers, Kubernetes clusters, cloud providers, and other endpoints without the friction of scattered credentials, port exhaustion, certificate warnings, or constant tool-switching. The Desktop Client also interacts closely with platform SDKs and CLIs to provide developers with the secure access they need and allow developers the ability to use their preferred native tooling.

As the PM for the Desktop Client and its associated SDK and CLI capabilities, you will set the direction for a flagship client used by IT administrators, power users, developers and, non-human identities across macOS, Windows and, Linux. You will operate as the product leader for the area by translating a complex technical architecture into a roadmap that delivers visible customer value, aligning engineering, design, security, and go-to-market partners. This is a high-visibility initiative central to Delinea's product strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Product Vision & Strategy
  • Own the long-term vision, strategy, and multi-release roadmap for Desktop Client and its associated SDK and CLI capabilities, balancing foundational investment with incremental delivery that customers can feel.

  • Define and articulate the strategy for unifying connection brokering, credential delivery, and protocol access into a single client experience, and drive the long-term consolidation of legacy desktop and connection-management use cases into it.

  • Build and maintain the business case, success metrics, and outcome targets for the product, and communicate them clearly to executives, customers, and the broader organization.

Execution & Delivery
  • Own end-to-end delivery across discovery, definition, and launch. Key expectations for this responsibility include writing crisp requirements, prioritizing ruthlessly, and making the trade-off calls that keep a technically complex product shipping on cadence through private preview, GA, and beyond.

  • Partner closely with engineering on architecture-shaping decisions for the cross-platform client and related SDK and CLI capabilities—translating deep technical constraints into clear product direction.

  • Define the experience for connecting across SSH, RDP, VNC, HTTPS, Kubernetes, databases, and cloud providers, including credential-set selection, live connection state, and a visual inventory of targets across protocols and environments.

  • Establish the metrics, telemetry, and feedback loops needed to measure adoption, reliability, and friction, and iterate based on what they tell you.

Customer & Market Focus
  • Be the voice of the IT administrator, power user, and developer by deeply understanding the "tool scatter," credential-handling, and just-in-time access pain that this product exists to eliminate.

  • Engage directly with customers, prospects, analysts, and field teams to validate direction, shape positioning, and ensure Delinea shows up to competitive evaluations with a single, credible access experience rather than fragmented tools.

  • Track the competitive landscape, including consolidated enterprise access and secure-browser offerings, and ensure the roadmap keeps Delinea ahead.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Act as the product point of accountability for Desktop Client across the organization, providing clarity on scope, sequencing, and what belongs to the client versus adjacent platform services.

  • Partner closely with engineering and architecture, UX and design, security and GRC, platform and infrastructure teams, and go-to-market functions to deliver a cohesive product.

  • Mentor and raise the bar for other product managers, modeling strong product judgment, written communication, and technical fluency.

  • Partner with Security and Compliance to ensure the client meets enterprise security expectations—including FedRAMP requirements—without adding friction for end users.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, including significant time owning technical, infrastructure, security, or identity products.

  • Demonstrated experience as a PM setting vision and strategy for a complex product and driving it through delivery at scale.

  • Experience owning desktop, CLI, or cross-platform applications (macOS/Windows/Linux), or comparable systems where the client experience is central to the product.

  • Strong technical fluency across networking and secure access concepts including protocols such as SSH, RDP, VNC, and HTTPS; TLS and certificates; databases, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).

  • Proven ability to translate deep architectural constraints into a clear, customer-centric roadmap, and to make and defend hard prioritization trade-offs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a track record of influencing executives, engineers, and customers alike.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CS/EE degree or security certification (CISSP/CCSP).

  • Experience in privileged access management (PAM), identity security, remote/secure access, and/or developer tooling (CI/CD, Git) is strongly preferred.

  • Experience shipping software for FedRAMP compliance and adjacent regimes (FIPS 140-2/3 validated cryptography, SOC 2, etc.).

  • Experience with product consolidation, legacy migration, and deprecation.

  • Experience with the cross-platform native client lifecycle: code signing, Apple notarization, Windows installer/MSI packaging, Linux packaging, and managed/silent deployment via MDM (Jamf, Intune, SCCM), plus auto-update channels.

  • Familiarity with Zero Trust / ZTNA architecture and how a client fits into a brokered-access model with proxies.

  • Familiarity with access players (Teleport, Okta Privilege Access, CyberArk, BeyondTrust).

Travel Expectation: up to 25%
